Responsibilities
  • Partner with industry sector leaders and portfolio company General Managers as the financial decision-making engine across Beacon’s portfolio companies.

  • Build value creation plans, set budgets and targets, and make day-to-day capital decisions that drive growth across companies.
  • Help own platform-level capital allocation between organic platform investment and inorganic mergers and acquisitions, platform-level acquisitions and tuck-ins, and corporate-level debt and equity.
  • Build the analytical rigor behind Beacon’s platform-level investment decisions and ensure capital is deployed where returns are most asymmetric.

  • Partner with the Chief Technology Officer and engineering leadership on company-wide tools, including BeaconOS and AI-native financial systems.
  • Build systems, dashboards, and decision frameworks that allow sector leaders and General Managers to self-serve financial answers and enable the finance function to scale across the portfolio.

  • Experience at a top private equity, growth equity, or hedge fund is desirable.
  • Experience at a top strategy consulting firm such as MBB or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in strategic finance or corporate development is desirable.

About the company

Beacon Software is a long-term home for vertical software companies in the real economy. It buys, builds, and grows software businesses, preserving their legacy while expanding founders’ ambitions. Unlike private equity that aims to flip, Beacon holds forever, investing in product, customers, and teams and sharing resources for scale. Founders gain in-house engineering, AI, design, and fintech expertise, plus access to a network spanning Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and Main Street. Beacon simplifies back-office operations, accelerates growth with proven playbooks, and lets founders focus on building software for their markets. Each portfolio company stays independent with its own brand and customers but benefits from shared resources and immediate value creation. The goal is to help founder-by-founder, company-by-company, win larger contracts, modernize technology, and expand market share by providing a sustainable, collaborative home for software growth.
