About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two to four years of experience in warehousing, ideally in construction, oil and gas, or manufacturing, is required.
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes, software, and tools is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities are required.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices is required.
- Familiarity with construction materials and equipment is preferred.
- Prepare shipments with sufficient packaging to avoid damage during transit.
- Contact freight companies and arrange shipment collection.
- Load freight into vehicles using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Record outgoing shipments in the Startec Shipping Log.
- Receive incoming shipments, check package accuracy and damage, and use appropriate material handling equipment.
- Record incoming shipments in the Startec Receiving Log.
- Confirm parts against packing slips while following required quality control requirements.
- Place received parts in the staging area or inventory and tag parts accurately.
- Scan paperwork, add it to the purchase order, and receive the order in D365.
- Notify required staff when orders arrive.
- Follow up on outstanding purchase orders by contacting suppliers via email and phone using the Arrival Overview process.
- Adjust delivery and ship dates on purchase orders as required.
- Update staff about unexpected delays and changes.
- Pick and stage parts for work orders, projects, and parts sales with accurate and detailed labeling.
- Communicate the completeness of staged orders to align with work schedules and delivery dates.
- Maintain clear records and communicate discrepancies.
- Prepare materials in advance to support technicians and avoid delays.
- Process returned or unused parts by sending them to suppliers or returning them to inventory promptly.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and year-end inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Process inventory adjustments, maintain bin locations, and organize inventory shelving to improve order-picking efficiency.
- Help identify shortages or excess inventory to improve efficiency.
- Manage tool sign-in and sign-out and update responsibility assignments in D365.
- Inspect returned tools for damage and quarantine them as needed.
- Send tools for repair and calibration when due.
- Monitor and replenish consumables for daily operations.
- Ensure tools and consumables are maintained, safe, and ready for use.
