Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children, such as academic or athletic tutoring, camp counseling, or youth volunteering.
  • At least 1–5 years of youth sports coaching or physical education instruction experience.
  • A high-energy, positive approach and a genuine desire to impact young children's lives through sports.
  • Considerable skill in at least one sport and a solid working knowledge of the fundamentals of several other sports.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and implement company curriculum.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with grammatically correct written and oral language when interacting professionally with students, families, peers, leadership, and the community.
  • Ability to obtain a fingerprint-based criminal background check (Live Scan) and child abuse clearance, complete mandated reporter training, and hold current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to travel between schools and program sites and work indoors in gyms and outdoors on fields in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills across multiple sports and respond to emergencies that may require running and climbing stairs.
  • Good physical condition to carry out all responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise students and provide sport-specific coaching and instruction across multiple programs, maintaining a safe and fun learning environment and serving as a positive role model.
  • Provide daily instruction and coaching in soccer, basketball, volleyball, running/cross country, and other assigned sports to students ages 4–14 with different ability levels.
  • Demonstrate sport skills and tactics, explain the principles behind them, observe and assess student performance, and give students feedback on their progress.
  • Adapt drills, games, and equipment to each age group and ability level so every student can participate and succeed.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and confidence in every session.
  • Transition between sports, schools, and program schedules as assigned.
  • Supervise student groups with attention to behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development.
  • Ensure the safety of students and team members.
  • Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
  • Use classroom management skills to lead activities and create an inclusive, enjoyable environment.
  • Work effectively with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
  • Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct, maintain the Impact Kids look, exhibit Impact Kids Core Values, and adhere to company policies.
