Understanding of basic manufacturing principles and straightening, with the ability to obtain assistance for weldment problem solving when needed.
Understanding of workmanship requirements and the ability to pass a workmanship test with additional training.
Ability to interpret all weld symbols and dimensions on prints, with additional support for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and datums as needed.
Knowledge of nondestructive testing and related processes; Level II qualification is required for additional interpretation.
Ability to fixture weldments using setups from previous orders, photographs, procedures, and guidance from higher-level welders.
Ability to weld using all processes used by the company, including gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and shielded metal arc welding.
Ability to pass a welder performance qualification test with minimal assistance.
Ability to operate manual vertical milling machines, saws, grinders, and overhead cranes with minimal assistance.
Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable export-control and International Traffic in Arms Regulations requirements or otherwise be authorized under U.S. law to access export-controlled information.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and weld a variety of metals ranging from sheet stock to heavy plate using tungsten inert gas, metal inert gas, stick, and occasional brazing processes.
Work on fixturing weldments and create tooling as required for new jobs.
Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, machining requirements, and datums to weld and create fixtures.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to solve problems with weldments or prints.
Maintain a safe, clean, neat, and orderly work environment; follow company policies and safety practices, including wearing safety glasses in designated areas and preventing errors.
Collaborate effectively with managers, directors, and workers to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
Comply with the company Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and applicable U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.

POSITION SUMMARY
Fabricates and welds a variety of metals from sheet stock to heavy plate. Welding processes utilized include Tig-Mig-stick and occasional brazing. Work is performed using basic hand tools-jigs-fixtures and precision measuring devices.

Qualifications
Intermediate level knowledge of military specification, AWS specifications or other code specifications. May require assistance from other employees on spec interpretation.
