Requirements
  • Experience with radio frequency and satellite communications hardware design, installation, integration, and testing across C-band, X-band, Ku-band, Ka-band, and Q/V-band systems.
  • Experience conducting site surveys, antenna alignment, rack integration, and operating earth-terminal control consoles for wideband and satellite communication links.
  • Experience performing preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on radio frequency and satellite communications systems in operational environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex radio frequency hardware issues and implementing corrective actions to improve system performance and maintainability.
  • Experience using radio frequency test equipment, including Keysight PNA-X, FieldFox, Spec-A, radio frequency signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and bit error rate testers.
  • Experience developing engineering documentation, including AutoCAD and Visio drawings, schematics, block diagrams, technical design packages, maintenance records, and test reports.
  • Experience supporting installation, testing, and maintenance activities in remote or austere environments.
  • Knowledge of satellite communications systems, preventive maintenance procedures, radio frequency safety standards, and engineering documentation practices.
  • Ability to lead maintenance and inspection activities while mentoring and training technical personnel.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% worldwide and perform physical installation activities, including climbing antennas and lifting equipment.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with polygraph.
  • A high school diploma and 10 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field and at least 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Design, install, integrate, and test complex radio frequency systems and satellite communications components across multiple frequency bands.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and operational readiness.
  • Develop and deploy advanced satellite communications and radio frequency communication capabilities for global operations.
  • Optimize system performance and support modernization initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders on mission-critical radio frequency projects.
  • Support installations, testing, maintenance activities, and deployment support in remote or austere environments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with radio frequency system deployments in tactical or expeditionary environments.
  • Knowledge of radio frequency propagation effects, including atmospheric attenuation, rain fade, ionospheric scintillation, and polarization mismatch.
  • Knowledge of radio frequency measurements and analysis, including S-parameters, P1dB, TOI, noise figure, phase noise, group delay, intermodulation distortion, and spectral regrowth.
  • Ability to analyze system data, resolve hardware malfunctions, and communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or related radio frequency/satellite communications certifications.
