- Perform preventive and demand maintenance and repair of the hybrid fiber coaxial network and associated equipment in accordance with company engineering standards.
- Provide technical support to Broadband Technicians resolving service-related problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair distribution problems involving the radio-frequency, alternating-current, and direct-current portions of the forward and reverse plant.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems involving the optical portions of the forward and return plant.
- Perform routine node optimization, balancing, alignment, and adjustment of signal-amplifying and signal-processing components and equipment.
- Test hybrid fiber coaxial network components using signal-level meters, volt-ohm meters, spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, leakage detectors, optical time-domain reflectometers, and related test equipment.
- Record and update documentation, compare field findings with existing documentation, and adjust or repair systems accordingly.
- Perform routine maintenance on standby power supplies in accordance with the preventive-maintenance program and update associated documentation.
- Monitor, record, and repair signal leakage.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and compile data for Federal Communications Commission and other regulatory reports.
- Maintain accurate records, including time worked, daily logs, and gas sheets, and record required information on data devices, work orders, surveys, and referrals.
- Operate communications devices in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate with appropriate departments to update progress during outage restoration and maintenance activities.
- Operate, clean, maintain, stock, and secure the assigned company vehicle and equipment in accordance with company policies.
- Read and accurately interpret system and network design maps and simple schematics.
- Adhere to applicable industry-specific, local, state, and federal regulations and follow company policy.
- Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Perform other assigned duties to meet customer expectations.
- Industry- and vendor-specific certifications and training, such as National Cable Television Institute or Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers training.

Vyve Broadband announces new co-presidents. April 21, 2026 Vyve Broadband has announced the appointment of Melanie Hannasch, chief operating officer, and Guy McCormick, SVP of engineering, as co-presidents of the company, effective immediately. This leadership transition follows the departure of former president and CEO Andy Parrott, who led the organization through a period of growth and transformation. Cable One, operating as Sparklight, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire full ownership of Mega Broadband Investments, which operates as Vyve Broadband, for $495 million. The Phoenix-based broadband communications provider serves over one million residential and business customers across 24 states. The acquisition will expand Cable One's operating footprint into markets across the Southeast, Northwest and Mid-South United States.
