  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, address, and respond to general inquiries, requests for service or support, and complaints, and research inquiries to address issues or concerns.
  • Refer concerns to other service areas or departments for follow-up as needed, resolve routine and basic problems, and communicate solutions or requested information to customers.
  • Verify that appropriate changes and resolutions have been finalized.
  • Record customer interactions, including details of inquiries, complaints, comments, and final resolutions, in the applicable database.
  • Escalate and refer unresolved customer grievances to department leadership for further review as necessary.
  • Review and process confidential information with discretion.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
  • Verify the availability of required material requisitions, including orders and file room requests, before initiating the approval process for sendouts.
  • Obtain pathologist approval and receive corresponding laboratory materials to coordinate timely sendouts to ordering physicians or external laboratories while maintaining accuracy, prioritization, and turnaround-time standards.
  • Order specific recuts and immunohistochemistry materials to meet the technical and diagnostic requirements of ordered tests.
  • Support the frozen section line to ensure timely processing and handling of intraoperative specimens while maintaining discretion with confidential information.
  • Serve as a backup resource for various duties to ensure operational continuity and team flexibility.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to missing specimens or incomplete information to prevent delays and ensure comprehensive case documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, and fellows to locate missing specimens requested by pathologists, external facilities, or clinicians to support diagnostic processes and patient care coordination.
  • Perform other duties assigned by leadership to support departmental priorities and service continuity.
