Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of successful experience in field supervision, civilian community law enforcement, military service, law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • A state Security Officer License where applicable.
  • Certification in the use of weapons where applicable.
  • A state armed license where required.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification where applicable.
  • Vehicle operators must be at least 25 years of age and have a driving record with no more than one moving violation.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Successful completion of an approved psychological evaluation before assignment.
  • Ability to demonstrate mental alertness, exercise good judgment, and implement instructions without emotional instability that would interfere with effective performance in an armed capacity.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including employment history, education level, credit, and criminal history.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division accurately.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate computer proficiency, including typing and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Current and valid state driver's license.
  • Successful completion of an approved physical evaluation before assignment.
  • Physical ability to protect oneself and others, effectively use firearms and other equipment, function in applicable environments and climates, and withstand sudden emotional stress and physical exertion.
  • Ability to run, jump, climb, or crawl when required.
  • Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to unexpected situations.
  • Ability to use post-security equipment, including metal detectors, X-ray equipment, CCTV, or similar devices, and firearms while on duty.
  • Ability to read post assignments, write accurate and grammatically correct reports, and respond to routine and emergency dispatches or orders.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies by providing emergency first aid or resuscitation while awaiting paramedics or other emergency personnel.
  • Ability to perform frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping for up to 12 hours per day, indoors or outdoors, during daytime or nighttime.
  • Ability to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and severe weather at outdoor posts.
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly and remain calm in stressful situations while interacting with the public, law enforcement, and the dispatch center.
  • Ability to remain on post for up to four consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or using restroom facilities.
  • Ability to perform occasional running, sprinting, heavy lifting, moving heavy objects, and climbing stairs.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities of assigned Contract Security Officers at the field level.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, client expectations, post orders, company policies, procedures, and established standards.
  • Perform the duties and responsibilities of a Contract Security Officer in addition to assigned supervisory functions as a working supervisor.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, inspection, reporting, and administrative oversight to support effective and consistent security operations.
  • Respond to client needs and operational issues and communicate matters requiring management attention in a timely manner.
  • Directly supervise assigned Contract Security Officers regarding daily security operations, post assignments, performance, training, and compliance.
  • Provide management with information regarding the operational status of assigned posts and personnel.
  • Serve as the senior supervisory representative during assigned hours and address operational issues within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Perform access control duties.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation for scheduling and time sheets, shift reports, incident reports, alarm logs, training rosters, accident and injury reports, key logs, weekly reports, unfilled hours, and safety incidents.
  • Report and document employee performance and counseling.
  • Coordinate on-site processing and on-the-job training of Contract Security Officers.
