About the Job

Requirements

  • A B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 12 years of hands-on physical design experience successfully taping out complex high-frequency, ultra-large-scale networking or AI ASICs.
  • Direct experience executing tapeouts in TSMC advanced nodes (N7, N5, N3) or equivalent foundry processes.
  • High proficiency with physical design tool flows, including Cadence Innovus for place and route; Synopsys PrimeTime or Cadence Tempus for timing and static timing analysis; StarRC or QRC for extraction and RedHawk for IR/EM; and Siemens Calibre for DRC/LVS.
  • Advanced TCL, Python, and Unix shell scripting for flow automation and database manipulation.
  • Technical leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead block-level and top-level implementation from floorplanning to GDSII stream-out using Cadence Innovus.
  • Drive floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing/power optimization on advanced technology nodes (5nm, 3nm, 2nm) using multi-patterning and complex metal stacks.
  • Perform multi-corner multi-mode static timing analysis, signal integrity optimization, and power grid optimization (static/dynamic IR-drop, EM) for signoff using PrimeTime, Voltus, or RedHawk.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong background in high-speed clock network implementation, including H-tree, mesh, and low-power clock tree synthesis.
  • Experience with power-aware implementation flows, including UPF/CPF, multi-voltage domains, and clock/power gating.

About the Company

Broadcom

Designs chips and software for data centers

Broadcom designs chips and sells infrastructure software for the companies that run large data centers, telecom networks and corporate IT. Its custom AI processors, built with cloud companies, and its Ethernet switch chips move and process data inside the computer clusters that train AI models. The chip business also makes parts for broadband, wireless, storage and industrial equipment, sold to device makers and cloud operators, while VMware software lets businesses run private clouds and is sold by subscription. Broadcom took its current form in 2016, when Avago Technologies, formed in 2005 from Agilent's chip unit, bought Broadcom Corporation, and it is based in Palo Alto, California.
