Monaco is an AI-native sales platform that helps startups and other businesses grow revenue by automating sales tasks. It integrates into a company’s sales workflow, uses a meeting recorder to capture call notes, drafts follow-up emails, and updates CRM by creating opportunities and filling fields. Unlike typical sales tools, Monaco combines AI-driven note-taking, email drafting, and CRM updates in one customizable system tailored to a company’s go-to-market process. Its goal is to reduce manual sales work and provide guidance to close more deals, with public beta launched in February 2026 ahead of general availability.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Monaco raised over $85 million by May 2026, signaling investor conviction and runway.
  • Hundreds of public beta customers before GA prove real demand, not slideware.
  • Overlayy integration expands Monaco's talent bench and improves AI sales conversation evaluation.

What critics are saying

  • Salesforce and HubSpot already own startup sales workflows, crushing Monaco's distribution window.
  • Coffee's fully agentic stack and Apollo's database make Monaco's hybrid model look slower.
  • If public beta churn stays high before GA, Benchmark-backed funding won't prevent a dead category.

What makes Monaco unique

  • Sam Blond, ex-Brex and Founders Fund, brings elite sales operator credibility.
  • Monaco unifies CRM, prospecting, meeting recording, and AI outreach in one system.
  • Overlayy's SalesQA benchmark strengthens Monaco's conversation intelligence and product depth.

Benchmark-backed Monaco acquires Bengaluru sales intelligence startup Overlayy

Monaco, a San Francisco-based AI-native revenue platform backed by Founders Fund, has acquired Overlayy, a Bengaluru-based B2B sales intelligence startup. The deal brings Overlayy's team and technology into Monaco's platform, which aims to replace legacy CRM systems. Founded by IIT Kanpur alumni Anmol Chaman and Snehil Saluja in early 2024, Overlayy built AI systems that analyse B2B sales conversations at scale. The startup developed SalesQA, described as the most comprehensive benchmark for evaluating AI systems on real B2B sales conversations. The Overlayy team has integrated with Monaco, with founders Chaman and Saluja taking senior product and engineering roles. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Monaco is backed by Founders Fund and Human Capital, with investors including Garry Tan, Peter Thiel, and Ryan Petersen.

Ex-Founders Fund VC Sam Blond raises $35M for Monaco, an AI sales platform with human experts

Former Founders Fund VC Sam Blond has launched Monaco, an AI sales startup, raising $35 million across a $10 million seed round and $25 million Series A, both led by Founders Fund. The company emerged from stealth on Wednesday with a public beta of its AI sales platform. Co-founded with his brother Brian Blond, a partner at Human Capital, Monaco targets early-stage startups with an AI-native CRM and prospect database. The platform automates sales workflows including email outreach and meeting scheduling, but uniquely employs human salespeople to monitor and guide the AI rather than replacing them entirely. The startup faces fierce competition from incumbents like Salesforce and HubSpot, plus numerous AI-focused startups. Blond positions Monaco as the next-generation platform leader, calling it the "'Cursor for sales'".
