A BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
At least 8 years of structural engineering building design experience is required; 8–10+ years is stated, ideally in commercial construction.
Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, and light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
Responsibilities
Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team.
Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design.
Attend client meetings and coordinate with construction project managers, architects, civil engineers, and mechanical engineers.
Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents and construction.
Produce construction-ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy.
Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with construction teams.
Desired Qualifications
Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction-level structural drawings is preferred.
Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design package is preferred.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
