Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Champion a deep understanding of customer needs, the broader ecosystem, and key market dynamics, and embed these insights into product decisions.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the product platform and surrounding ecosystem, and produce functional artifacts for Engineering, including data flows, sequence diagrams, APIs, and interface specifications.
  • Define and maintain a roadmap aligned to business objectives, and translate system designs into structured features and user stories ready for Engineering execution.
  • Lead refinement sessions and create detailed acceptance criteria to ensure clarity and delivery readiness.
  • Analyze application software to validate that business and functional requirements can be effectively delivered.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and refine backlogs based on business value, impact, and measurable outcomes.
  • Advocate for and model agile best practices across the product lifecycle, from defining epics to writing actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Measure outcomes, evaluate existing practices and metrics, and drive ongoing optimization across processes, roles, and delivery execution.

Mastercard partners Flowcart for in-chat payments in Kenya, eyes Africa expansion

Mastercard has partnered with Flowcart to enable secure card payments within social-messaging conversations. The service will launch in Kenya before expanding to other East African markets, South Africa, Nigeria, and Côte d'Ivoire. Flowcart allows merchants to accept payments through embedded links, QR codes, or native checkout flows without needing standalone websites or conventional point-of-sale terminals. Tokenised card details support repeat purchases. The partnership's success depends on converting cash sales or winning payments from other networks rather than simply shifting existing card transactions. However, widespread mobile-money use in Kenya may limit card adoption. For Mastercard, which reported second-quarter 2026 net revenue of $9.3 billion, the partnership would need substantial expansion to meaningfully impact finances. Commercial terms and expected payment values were not disclosed.

The companies said on Thursday (Sep 10) they had begun collaborating on a Know-Your-Agent interoperability framework that would allow card networks, digital wallets, agent platforms and online marketplaces to recognise trusted AI agents across different payment ecosystems while maintaining their own approval and risk management processes. The initiative comes as the payments industry prepares for the growth of agentic global consumer commerce, in which AI agents evolve from making recommendations to completing purchases on behalf of users. The framework builds on the companies' existing protocols, including Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol, Mastercard Verifiable Intent and Ant International's Agentic Mobile Protocol. The companies said the initiative could help reduce integration costs and accelerate the launch of new agentic services by providing greater trust and risk visibility across participating networks. Ant International, Mastercard, Visa develop AI agent framework. Ant International, a Singapore-headquartered fintech company, said on September 10 that it had started working with Mastercard and Visa on a Know-Your-Agent framework. The framework aims to streamline how card networks, digital-wallet ecosystems, agent platforms, and marketplaces onboard and identify AI agents using shared trust signals. Each network would retain its own verification and decision-making processes. The companies said the effort builds on existing protocols, including Mastercard Verifiable Intent, Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol, and Ant International's Agentic Mobile Protocol. It will focus on operator traceability, shared certification requirements, and continuous transaction monitoring to reduce duplicate onboarding and identity checks. The companies also plan to advance the approach through BuildFin.ai, part of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Financial AI Builder Program.
