About the Role
Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a Production Underwriter in the state of Indiana. As a member of our Commercial Lines team, this position will play a key role in generating new commercial lines business opportunities within a given territory. This is a full-time, remote position. The preferred candidates will live in the Indianapolis area.

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree with a background in insurance or equivalent experience
8 years of underwriting and marketing experience at a company or agency level with a minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience should be in the commercial lines sector of insurance
Demonstration of self-development through the attainment of professional insurance designations, CPCU, ARM, PLU, etc.
Ability to create business opportunities by demonstrating excellent underwriting skills and product knowledge. Must possess a value-added service mentality
The expectation is this employee will travel 2 to 3 days per week to visit agents in the designated territory.
The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of the Indianapolis/Indiana territory and established Property/Casualty agency relationship.
Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 annually. The specific offer will vary based on an applicant's education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on an applicant's geographic location.
Performance-Based Incentive Opportunity: In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance-based incentive opportunity tied to results within the assigned territory. The incentive is based on individual performance for the territory and is not guaranteed.
