Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Medical assistant training from an accredited school is required.
- Certification from the National Healthcareer Association or the American Association of Medical Assistants is required, or must be completed within six months of hire.
- Current CPR certification is required and must be maintained.
- The role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
- The role requires standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods, with occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Normal or corrected visual acuity and hearing are required.
- The employee must be able to work with exposure to bodily fluids and conditions common to a clinical environment.
- The employee must be able to understand and effectively use Microsoft Outlook, practice management systems, and electronic medical record systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on clinical support to providers during patient visits.
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories.
- Assist with procedures, injections, and medication administration.
- Coordinate patient care, including referrals and follow-ups.
- Deliver patient service with empathy and professionalism.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification or experience as a Medical Assistant, with Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant credentials preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to high-quality patient care.
