What believers are saying

  • UDP added NELSON in July 2026, signaling aggressive platform expansion around Studio+.
  • Andy Chan's 2024 engineering expansion broadens Studio+'s cross-sell into higher-margin technical work.
  • Studio+ still advertises active leadership and engineering growth on its 2026 site updates.

What critics are saying

  • Studio+ Engineering transitioned to MBI Companies in January 2026, weakening internal engineering control.
  • UDP now owns NELSON, MBI, and Studio+; portfolio priority can shift capital away.
  • Architecture and interior design demand is cyclical; a 2026 slowdown would hit project starts fast.

What makes Studio+ unique

  • Studio+ joined United Design Partners in November 2025, gaining broader capital and deal flow.
  • Andy Chan launched Studio+ Engineering in October 2024, adding MEP services to design offerings.
  • Studio+ combines architecture, interiors, structural, and engineering services under one brand.
