Requirements
- An MD or DO degree is required.
- Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in clinical, basic, or translational research and provide evidence of research success.
- Candidates must have completed a Pediatric Transplant Infectious Disease Fellowship.
- Candidates must have experience in Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship programs.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in teaching students and housestaff.
- Candidates must hold a valid medical license in the State of Florida and a valid Drug Enforcement Administration license.
Responsibilities
- Care for pediatric patients referred to the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Provide mentorship for quality assurance and research projects.
- Share on-call duties with other members of the division's faculty.
- Conduct basic, translational, and clinical research to develop publications and grant submissions.
- Provide pre- and post-transplant evaluations, inpatient consultation, and outpatient care for pediatric transplant patients in collaboration with the Miami Transplant Institute.
- Oversee the pediatric antibiotic stewardship program as associate director, working closely with the pediatric pharmacy and adult program.
- Serve as the representative for the Pediatric Infection Control Program.
