This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, focusing on the Blue Moon lander product lines. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface to advance our mission.
As a Fluids Test Lead in our Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will mentor, train, and lead other team members from test planning to execution. Working under the Vehicle I&T Director, you will develop a fluids test campaign for one of our lunar vehicles. Your role includes the complete life cycle of the system from design to operation. You will develop test plans, procedures, and schedules, manage risks, and collaborate with internal and external suppliers to ensure our test approach meets requirements and risk posture of the program
Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee cryogenic test procedures (leak, flow, pressure, system tests).
Provide technical leadership and solve challenging problems in cryogenic systems.
Mentor and train team members.
Lead the test system life cycle from conceptual design to operation.
Plan schedules, manage risks, and develop mitigation plans.
Collaborate with suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze fluid systems.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in fluids and mechanical systems/components.
Experience with cryogenic aerospace systems for ground operations and flight.
Expertise in LH2, LOX, GH2, and GOX applications for components like heat exchangers, pumps, turbomachinery, or combustors.
Proven technical leadership and mentoring skills.
Strong understanding of cryogenic and propulsion fluid behavior.
Effective collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with external entities.
Ability to build trust and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
Systems Engineering experience (requirements, interface definition, management, verification).
Experience with spacecraft propulsion and cryogenic environments.
Experience with the full life cycle of a cryogenic fluid system.
Willingness to work on-site at Florida’s Space Coast with occasional travel for testing.
