Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active, in-scope U.S. Government-issued Secret clearance is required.
  • A current DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or equivalent, is required.
  • Two to four years of recent and relevant technical experience are required.
  • Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management is required.
  • Expertise with routers, switches, routing protocols, Cisco, Juniper, or Multiprotocol Label Switching is required.
  • A general understanding of network topologies is required.
  • The ability to work in a 24/7 shift-work environment is required.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Responsibilities
  • Execute network operations, including analysis of customer traffic across the Multiprotocol Label Switching and Joint Regional Security Stack infrastructure.
  • Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
  • Work directly with supported customers and peers to maximize network availability and minimize or eliminate mission and operational impact.
  • Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools.
  • Perform change management tasks, including hardware replacement, software configuration, and ASI management.
  • Use incident management applications to document reported outages or degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions throughout the lifecycle of service-impacting network incidents.
  • Assess and identify resolutions to network incidents and deficiencies using knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, Multiprotocol Label Switching, virtual private network technologies, intrusion detection and prevention systems, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, and out-of-band management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a technical control facility or cyber transport environment.
  • Circuit actions and vendor experience.
  • Internet Protocol architecture experience.
  • Telco network operations center, inside-plant, or outside-plant experience.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management.
  • Additional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, or ITILv4.
