Requirements
  • The resident is anglophone, so the worker must be able to communicate in English.
  • PAB, ASSS, or nursing student profile.
  • Must be autonomous and reliable and use a humane approach.
  • Meals, transportation, and accommodation are not provided by the organization; continuous presence is required without breaks or a planned meal period.
Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous day-and-night supervision of the resident to prevent wandering, entry into neighboring rooms, and situations that could compromise the resident's safety or dignity.
  • Accompany and supervise the resident during movement in and out of the room, and provide direct supervision and assistance as needed during transfers.
  • Remind the resident to use the bathroom, supervise and assist as needed, including in cases of incontinence or accidents, in collaboration with the residence staff.
  • Use a positive, simple, gentle approach adapted to the resident's cognitive abilities, and avoid discussing her difficulties or limitations because she may react poorly.
