Infleqtion hits 30 entangled logical qubits with just 80 physical qubits on Sqale quantum computer

Infleqtion has achieved 30 entangled logical qubits using 80 physical qubits on its Sqale quantum computing platform, reaching a key milestone on its 2026 roadmap. The company is the first neutral-atom quantum computing firm to reach this level on a commercial system. The breakthrough combined hardware and software co-design with an AI-assisted discovery that halved the physical gates needed for a key logical operation. Infleqtion aims to deliver 100 logical qubits by 2028. The company has three customers for logical qubit circuits on the Sqale platform, including the Wellcome Leap Quantum for Bio programme. The achievement was experimentally confirmed by a signal approximately 1,000 times stronger than underlying noise. The experiment executed roughly 1,000 physical operations, marking a transition from academic experiments to commercially viable systems.

Why Oxford is one of the world's most important quantum hubs.

Why Oxford is one of the world's most important quantum hubs. The UK is investing in quantum. In Oxford, Infleqtion is turning that investment into an innovation engine for autonomous systems in Britain, mainland Europe, and beyond. Oxford is one of the most consequential places in the world to build quantum technology, and it is leading, not following. Its Hub for Quantum Computing via Integrated and Interconnected Implementations (QCi3) alone brings together more than 18 research institutes and 27 industrial and government partners, and the city's research base has produced one of the densest concentrations of quantum spinouts anywhere in the world. Add a government now committing serious money to quantum at a national level, and Oxford looks less like one research city among many, and more like the centre of gravity for UK quantum. Researchers, engineers, suppliers, and the customers who will eventually use the finished systems are often within a short drive of each other. Why Infleqtion is expanding in Oxford. Infleqtion has had a presence in Oxford since 2014, and Infleqtion, Inc. is now further expanding its footprint here to help turn the region's momentum into something Britain can rely on operationally, not just research it can be proud of. Britain's next generation of autonomous systems will depend on more than platforms alone. They will require trusted navigation, precision timing, advanced sensing, and the domestic capability to integrate and sustain those technologies. Infleqtion's new Quantum Innovation Centre at Oxford Technology Park will expand its UK research, production, and systems-integration capacity, providing the space and infrastructure required to move quantum technologies from development into operational use. In an increasingly volatile, uncertain, contested, and ambiguous world, trust and assured execution are no longer nice-to-haves for autonomous systems - they are the baseline requirement. The UK is investing in autonomous and uncrewed capability across defence and industry, and successful deployment will rely on resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies and advanced sensing: systems that can determine position and motion accurately, make sense of complex environments, and perform reliably even when signals from global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are jammed, spoofed or denied altogether. Infleqtion's team in Oxford is developing that enabling layer across quantum computing, precision timing, sensing, and navigation. The team combines quantum science with the engineering, software and systems-integration expertise required to turn advanced technologies into useful capability. Autonomous systems are one important application of that broader expertise. How quantum sensing can support navigation without satellite signals. Q-NAV, Infleqtion's Quantum-Enhanced Inertial Navigation Systems programme, is an important example of technology developed and led from right here in Oxford. Supported by Innovate UK and developed in collaboration with the Royal Navy, Q-NAV is advancing atom-interferometry-based navigation technology for future platforms. Atom interferometry uses the behaviour of atoms to measure motion with exceptional precision, independent of any external signal. That matters because it means navigation that stays accurate and assured even when an adversary is actively trying to jam or spoof it - a critical capability as autonomous systems take on more demanding and contested missions. Integrated with established inertial-navigation technology, quantum sensing can improve the long-term accuracy and assurance of navigation systems. The programme is focused on the challenges that matter in operational settings, including performance, robustness, and integration. Infleqtion has invested to develop these highly technical solutions, and there is still real R&D and prototyping ahead. Infleqtion, Inc. is doing that work side by side with UK entities helping Infleqtion, Inc. bring these systems towards the field, building the capability to productise them here in the UK. The Royal Navy's participation brings an essential end-user perspective to the work. Engagement from the outset helps align technology development with the practical needs of the platforms and missions it may ultimately support. Connecting scientific expertise with that operational experience is part of what makes Oxford valuable as a place to develop quantum technology. Building UK quantum capability for european markets. Sovereign capability requires sustained investment in people, facilities, engineering, and supply chains. Infleqtion is growing its UK team across physics, engineering, software, manufacturing, and systems integration, whilst expanding the capacity to build, test, and deploy technology here in the UK. That UK base also positions Infleqtion, Inc. to pursue opportunities with customers and partners across mainland Europe. Oxford's rise as a quantum hub was, in many ways, inevitable, built on UKRI's early vision, decades of university research, a run of ambitious spinouts, the density of talent in the region, and now a government prepared to back the sector at scale. Infleqtion's expanded footprint in the region builds on more than a decade of that commitment, and it is aimed at ensuring the quantum technologies developed here create operational and economic value at home and around the world.

Infleqtion cuts quantum computing qubit requirements fivefold with NVIDIA CUDA-Q Logical integration

Infleqtion has integrated NVIDIA CUDA-Q Logical with its qLDPC open-source library for quantum error correction research. The integration enables quantum error correction using approximately six physical data qubits per logical qubit — roughly five times fewer than surface-code approaches. Working with an early-access version of CUDA-Q Logical, Infleqtion researchers constructed and validated a high-rate quantum error correction code. This physical-to-logical qubit ratio below 10:1 represents progress toward the company's architectural target for near-term systems. The high physical-qubit overhead of error correction remains a central obstacle between current quantum computers and commercially useful ones. High-rate codes pack more logical information into the same machine, though the advantage requires the entire system to be built accordingly. Infleqtion open-sourced qLDPC last year alongside researchers from JPMorgan Chase.
