ChristianaCare opens health center at new Aston, PA campus.

ChristianaCare opens health center at new Aston, PA campus. * By Doug Rainey * Oct 20, 2026 Updated Oct 20, 2026 * 0 ChristianaCare opened the ChristianaCare Health Center at Aston, a new multi-specialty outpatient facility offering primary care, specialty care, imaging, and diagnostic services for Delaware County residents. Located on the second floor at 700 Turner Industrial Way, the new health center expands services available to patients on the Aston Campus and complements ChristianaCare Hospital, Aston, which opened earlier this year.h Appointments are currently available for primary care and other services. "The ChristianaCare Health Center at Aston represents the next chapter in our commitment to Delaware County," said Pauline Corso, president of Ambulatory Network Continuity and Growth at ChristianaCare. "This center is about more than expanding services. It's about investing in the people we serve and the relationships that help communities thrive. We are proud to deepen our presence in Aston and honored to serve this community for years to come." ChristianaCare opened the ChristianaCare Hospital, Aston, a neighborhood hospital in nearb... All three of Delaware's southern hospital systems are forming a unified coalition to block t... Earlier, Delaware's largest hospital system opened a neighborhood hospital with emergency care and inpatient beds at Aston. The Aston Campus joins a neighborhood hospital and health center in West Grove, Chester County, PA. The Daily News, West Chester (paywall), reported that visits to the Aston site have far exceeded ChristianaCare's forecasts. Another neighborhood hospital and healthcare center is under construction in Springfield, Delaware County, with completion expected in 2027. Delaware County is still struggling with the closure of Crozer Health and its hospitals after its private equity-backed owner filed for bankruptcy. The closure eliminated a regional burn unit and emergency center. ChristianaCare later acquired Crozer's outpatient centers after submitting the highest bid. Before that, the healthcare system was in talks to merge with Crozer, but later walked away over issues including converting the system to non-profit status and, in all likelihood, the system's deteriorating finances. Plans to build similar centers in Kent and Sussex counties drew pushback from local healthcare systems. * indicates required Email Format

ChristianaCare Hospital, Springfield PA marks construction milestone.

ChristianaCare Hospital, Springfield PA marks construction milestone. Milestone marks major progress in expanding access to healthcare in Delaware County. August 27, 2026 ChristianaCare, Springfield township and Delaware County leaders celebrated a milestone in the construction of ChristianaCare Hospital, Springfield on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. A ceremonial beam signing marked the completion of the structural phase of construction. Located at 351 North State Road, ChristianaCare Hospital, Springfield remains on track to open in the fall of 2027. ChristianaCare is developing the hospital in partnership with Emerus Holdings, Inc., the nation's leading developer of neighborhood hospitals. "This is an exciting milestone for ChristianaCare and the Springfield community," said Pauline Corso, president of Ambulatory Network Continuity and Growth at ChristianaCare. "This campus reflects its commitment to the individuals and families who call Springfield home. It will bring care closer to where people live, making it easier to access the services they need while strengthening the overall health of the community. "This moment is a reminder of what's possible when organizations, community leaders and neighbors come together around a shared vision. We are proud to be part of Springfield's future." "Today's beam signing reflects the progress we are making toward delivering a new model of convenient, high-quality care for Springfield and the surrounding communities," said James Bennett, Market CEO, ChristianaCare-Emerus. "Through our partnership with ChristianaCare, we are building a hospital designed around the needs of patients, with 24/7 emergency care, inpatient services and seamless connections to a broader network of care. We are excited and proud to bring that vision one step closer to reality." Designed to meet everyday health needs. Unlike a standalone emergency department or urgent care centers, the ChristianaCare Springfield Campus will feature a 20,000-square-foot neighborhood hospital that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hospital will include a full-service emergency department equipped to treat common medical emergencies, such as falls, injuries, heart attacks and strokes, as well as a 10-bed inpatient unit for patients who require inpatient care, observation, or testing. The second floor will house a ChristianaCare Health Center offering a range of outpatient services tailored to community needs, including primary care, specialty care and other clinical services. Designed to meet the evolving health care needs of the community, the Springfield campus will make it easier for residents to access timely, coordinated care in a setting that is both convenient and patient centered. Part of a broader investment in southeastern Pennsylvania. The ChristianaCare Springfield Campus is part of ChristianaCare's continued investment in southeastern Pennsylvania, expanding access to high-quality care through a growing network of neighborhood hospitals and outpatient services. Along with ChristianaCare's neighborhood hospitals in West Grove (opened July 2025) and Aston (opened May 2026), the Springfield campus reflects the organization's commitment to bringing care closer to home and meeting the evolving health care needs of local communities. Together, these investments represent ChristianaCare's commitment to ensuring southeastern Pennsylvania residents have reliable access to the care and services they need, where and when they need them most.

ChristianaCare buys Georgetown property for $6.75M.

ChristianaCare buys Georgetown property for $6.75M. GEORGETOWN - ChristianaCare has purchased a $6.75 million three-parcel site for its planned $65 million Georgetown health campus at 20769 DuPont Blvd., according to Sussex County property records. Christiana Care Health System Inc. purchased the property at 20769 DuPont Blvd. on Aug. 13 from Rojan GT 724 LLC; that owner had previously purchased the property in October 2024 for $3.48 million. "ChristianaCare recently completed the purchase of the property for our proposed Georgetown Campus, marking another important milestone in the project," Pauline Corso, president of Ambulatory Network Continuity and Growth at ChristianaCare, told the Delaware Business Times in a prepared statement. - Advertisement - "The campus is designed to expand access to care in Sussex County by combining a comprehensive health center with a neighborhood hospital, bringing a wide range of services closer to where people live," she added. "The project remains subject to the required regulatory and local approvals." As previously reported by DBT, ChristianaCare announced plans in February to build a 42,000-square-foot campus on the Route 13 property at an estimated cost of $65.1 million. The health system expected the campus to open in late 2028, but a regulatory wrinkle may challenge those plans. The project would include a comprehensive health center offering primary, specialty, behavioral health and other outpatient services alongside a smaller-scale neighborhood hospital. Plans call for eight emergency department beds and eight inpatient beds. ChristianaCare is partnering with Emerus on the neighborhood hospital portion of the project. Emerus specializes in the model and operates or partners in more than 45 acute-care facilities nationwide. ChristianaCare has already worked with the company on similar facilities outside of Delaware, including its West Grove campus in southern Chester County. The Georgetown campus is part of ChristianaCare's previously announced $865 million investment in Delaware over three years which includes projects throughout the state. The health system has also proposed a similar neighborhood hospital and health center in Camden as it expands its footprint farther into central and southern Delaware. AI-driven search is changing how businesses get found. If your content isn't current, your next client may never see you at all. The newly acquired Georgetown property is also moving through Delaware's Brownfield program. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) is negotiating a Brownfields Development Agreement with ChristianaCare covering the three parcels, according to the department. The state said the site may have experienced a release of hazardous substances as a result of historical activities there. A Brownfields Development Agreement establishes the scope and schedule for any remediation required as a property is redeveloped. DNREC's public comment period on the agreement is scheduled to close Aug. 31. As reported by Spotlight Delaware, the proposal also faces questions in the state regulatory process as Bayhealth recently asked the Delaware Health Resources Board to delay consideration of ChristianaCare's proposed Georgetown and Camden neighborhood hospitals. The letter asked the board to examine questions surrounding the projects' ownership and governance structure with for-profit partner Emerus, including whether the arrangement complies with Senate Bill 313. Signed into law by Gov. Matt Meyer in July, Senate Bill 313 established a two-year moratorium on certain acquisitions of nonprofit acute-care hospitals by for-profit entities and expanded state oversight of transactions involving nonprofit hospitals and their real estate. - Digital Partners -
