Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required in aircrew scheduling, flying squadron operations, current operations, SARM/HARM support, aviation operations support, or a comparable military aviation scheduling environment.
  • Experience with scheduling databases, training status inputs, and recurring scheduling reports is required.
  • The ability to operate in a dynamic, deadline-driven, medium- to high-stress operational environment is required.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with squadron leadership and support offices are required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the training officer, training non-commissioned officer, squadron aviation resource management specialist, Unit Deployment Manager, and Operations Officer to arrange schedules supporting operations, qualification, upgrade, test, exercise, and continuation training while meeting currency and progression standards.
  • Build long- and short-range shift schedules covering aircrew, instructor, evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly with senior squadron leadership and with simulator contractors for simulator events as required.
  • Track crewmember leave, temporary duty, scheduled medical appointments, and other scheduling commitments.
  • Deconflict crewmember schedules and coordinate with flight leadership to ensure crew members are available for assigned sortie taskings.
  • Track daily flight, ground, and academic training requirements and accomplishments to support accurate flight scheduling.
  • Schedule aircrew based on experience to mitigate Operational Risk Management as detailed in AMCI 90-903, Aviation Operational Risk Management.
  • Schedule according to guidance from Stan/Eval, applicable aircraft manuals, appropriate supplements, and the Go-No/Go Process Guide.
  • Report schedule updates to squadron leadership.
  • Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to maintain full coverage by coordinating with the current mission commander or operations supervisor and the flight responsible for the affected shift.
  • Publish and post long- and short-range ground, academic, flying, and simulator training event schedules in computer database systems.
  • Comply with locally developed guidance from Ops Group and Wing Current Operations and Group Training when building schedules.
  • Perform daily updates to scheduling data to account for changing conditions and training completion rates.
  • Coordinate with Current Operations, Group Training, outside agencies, exercise participants, and higher headquarters to report and facilitate exercise and special-event schedules.
  • Provide inputs to Wing Scheduling/Current Operations by attending weekly schedule coordination and deconfliction meetings.
  • Produce Flight Authorizations that have cleared the Group Stan/Eval Go-No/Go process.
  • Update the Load Tracker for the following week’s schedule.
  • Produce the weekly Flying Hour Effectiveness Report (A001) in accordance with local policy and procedures.
  • Produce the weekly Flying Hour Program Report (A002) using AFTO 781 and other sources to track expended hours and assigned flying-hour accomplishments.
  • Provide the security manager with a weekly list of DISS requirements to generate DISS letters for training missions as required.
  • Coordinate with Aerial Delivery, Training, Loadmaster Scheduler, and Wing Scheduling/Current Operations to ensure appropriate training loads are assigned to each scheduled line.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate’s degree is preferred in aviation operations, aviation management, logistics, business, or a related field.
