Requirements
  • DoD 8580 IAT III certification, such as CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCIH, GCED, or CISSP (or Associate).
  • A professional-level certification such as MCSA Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, MCSE Core Infrastructure, or Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator.
  • At least 7 years of related experience.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, demilitarized zones, and certificates.
  • Experience using PowerShell commands to manage Active Directory features, roles, mailboxes, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience identifying the need for Active Directory system reconfigurations.
  • Experience maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for Active Directory system administration and appropriate use.
  • Experience building, tuning, and maintaining servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting server performance issues using native Windows Server tools and utilities.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory 2019/2022, including planning, deployment, migration, mailbox server failover, and cluster management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory architecture, including databases and logs, mail routing, and protocol support.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022.
  • Ability to evaluate the need for messaging system reconfigurations.
  • Ability to maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Active Directory as it relates to enterprise technologies.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot server performance issues using native Windows Server tools and utilities.
  • Ability to work with management to plan future upgrades, including Active Directory migration to a newer version.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respond clearly to questions.
  • Ability to address negative situations and resolve them positively.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SSBI, at minimum.
  • Ability to work possible off-hours to support releases and outages.
  • Ability to perform the stated office-based physical duties, including occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the overall health of technologies associated with Active Directory and internal Domain Name Service.
  • Resolve Active Directory tickets escalated from the service desk, complete associated administrative activities, and provide a weekly status report.
  • Coordinate incident tickets between Tier II and Tier III sections and other sections as required.
  • Provide documentation, guidance, and instruction to Tier II and service desks for standard Active Directory incidents, work orders, and service requests.
  • Provide Active Directory Service Desk Resolution Reports documentation to the service desk on task-completion procedures.
  • Submit and execute Active Directory-related Request for Change tasks.
  • Monitor Active Directory system availability and performance with government-provided event management tools and take corrective action for incidents that reduce system health.
  • Provide project support for Active Directory-related technologies.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Team and other sections on Active Directory-related issues.
  • Support the change management process, submit requests through the Change Approval Board, and participate in Change Review Boards.
  • Escalate product issues to third-party product vendors upon government approval.
  • Implement monitoring-tool thresholds and conduct proactive event remediation.
  • Analyze and remediate DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines for responsible technologies in preparation for annual Commanders Cyber Readiness Inspections.
  • Document and implement technical solutions for operational requirements using existing and emerging technologies.

Comminent secures $2M for smart city tech

Comminent, a deep-tech communications startup, has raised $2 million from Transition VC. The funds will expand its smart metering and smart city applications, including smart lighting and water metering. Founded in 2018, Comminent aims to install 250 million smart meters in 4-5 years and projects Rs 300 crore in revenue by FY28.
