- An engineering degree from a four-year college or university is required; an Industrial Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
- At least two years of related experience, preferably in a third-party logistics environment, is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and facility layout and design is required.
- Experience with material handling equipment, warehouse automation, and racking products is required.
- Working knowledge of financial statements is required.
- Working knowledge of labor management and warehouse management systems is required.
- Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Ability to travel up to 10% is required.
- Identify and deliver service-improvement activities throughout the distribution center.
- Provide and present creative solutions in dedicated distribution to customers and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with operations management to develop and execute strategic planning goals and provide consultation services to customers.
- Review building layout, inventory slotting, and placement to improve space utilization.
- Apply quantitative methods to warehouse operations to optimize total delivered cost and maximize service levels.
- Analyze and improve current warehouse best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and other continuous-improvement tools.
- Lead sourcing efforts for material handling equipment, racking, and warehouse automation products.
- An Industrial Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a third-party logistics environment is preferred.
