Requirements
  • An engineering degree from a four-year college or university is required; an Industrial Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience, preferably in a third-party logistics environment, is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and facility layout and design is required.
  • Experience with material handling equipment, warehouse automation, and racking products is required.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements is required.
  • Working knowledge of labor management and warehouse management systems is required.
  • Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% is required.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and deliver service-improvement activities throughout the distribution center.
  • Provide and present creative solutions in dedicated distribution to customers and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with operations management to develop and execute strategic planning goals and provide consultation services to customers.
  • Review building layout, inventory slotting, and placement to improve space utilization.
  • Apply quantitative methods to warehouse operations to optimize total delivered cost and maximize service levels.
  • Analyze and improve current warehouse best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and other continuous-improvement tools.
  • Lead sourcing efforts for material handling equipment, racking, and warehouse automation products.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Industrial Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a third-party logistics environment is preferred.
