New Smart Factory Insights Solution from Belden and Edge2Web Helps Manufacturers Eliminate Costly Downtime

New Smart Factory Insights Solution from Belden and Edge2Web Helps Manufacturers Eliminate Costly Downtime TMCnet News [October 01, 2026] | / | New Smart Factory Insights Solution from Belden and Edge2Web Helps Manufacturers Eliminate Costly Downtime Belden Inc. (NYSE: BDC), a leading global provider of complete connection solutions, today announced the new Belden and Edge2Web Smart Factory Insights solution, powered by AWS IoT SiteWise. The solution helps manufacturers drive continuous improvement across the plant floor by digitizing operations and visualizing key performance indicators (KPIs). Manufacturers are under pressure to improve efficiency, but turning plant floor data into action remains difficult. Many operations still run on a patchwork of control systems and manual processes that make real-time performance visibility hard to achieve. The solution delivers: * No-code tools to create custom KPIs, dashboards and scorecards without programming * Multi-protocol support connecting more than 300 industrial protocols and device types * GenAI-powered summaries, alerts and digital playbooks for faster decision-making * Scalability from single-site deployments to global, multi-site operations The Belden and Edge2Web Smart Factory Insights solution combines Belden Horizon(TM) Data Operations with Edge2Web Factory Insights. Belden Horizon(TM) Data Operations connects more than 300 industrial protocols and normalizes plant data acquisition and secure transmission to AWS IoT SiteWise. Edge2Web Factory Insights, a software-as-a-service application, computes and visualizes key performance indicators such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), total effective equipment performance (TEEP), mean time between failures and mean time to repair (MTBF/MTTR), and energy consumption. "Most manufacturers are not lacking data. They are missing the connection from data to decisions, and getting there usually means stitching together three or four vendors and hoping it holds together. We built this solution with Edge2Web powered by AWS so that work is done and customers can realize value quickly - and it's the first in a line of end-to-end solutions we're bringing to market with our ecosystem partners to deliver customer outcomes," said David Ricks, Ecosystem Partner Program Manager, Belden. "Manufacturing leaders need end-to-end solutions that enale reduced downtime, improved product quality, and optimized energy utilization. By combining best-in-class edge data acquisition with advanced performance analytics and AI, Belden and Edge2Web are partnering to address complex manufacturing challenges quickly and at scale," said Fred Holahan, Co-Founder and CEO, Edge2Web, Inc. The Edge2Web collaboration reflects Belden's ongoing evolution from a connectivity products provider to a comprehensive solutions provider, helping manufacturers move from raw plant floor data to the insights that drive operational performance. Belden relocates European cable plant near Budapest.

Belden relocates European cable plant near Budapest. US connectivity and network infrastructure company Belden has signed a lease for the entire 42,000 sqm HelloParks Páty PT5 warehouse facility in Hungary, where it will consolidate its Dutch and Hungarian manufacturing operations. The site will become Belden's largest European cable plant, with production expected to begin in early 2028. The deal was brokered with the involvement of Cushman & Wakefield. The agreement covers more than 40,000 sqm of industrial and warehouse space and 2,000 sqm of office space, making Belden the largest tenant in the HelloParks portfolio. By merging its Netherlands and Hungary operations, the company's Hungarian unit will take on a more significant role in its global production network. "In the new Páty manufacturing centre we are combining our Dutch and Hungarian capacities. We were looking for a site where the building's technical configuration and lease structure could both be adapted to our manufacturing processes and long-term plans. The consolidation will allow us to achieve greater production volume and more efficient operations," said Guilherme Hoppe, vice president of manufacturing for Belden's EMEA region. The PT5 building will be fully adapted for cable manufacturing, with a fresh-air supply system installed throughout, upgraded heating controls and machine foundation bases embedded in the industrial floor. Office and communal areas will also be fitted out as part of the development. "We are proud that Belden has chosen HelloParks as the location for a European manufacturing centre of this scale. The deal confirms that a leased facility can be a genuine alternative to owning a site for a large and complex production operation," said Pozderka István, co-founder and business development director of HelloParks. HelloParks Páty is a 87-hectare park in Budapest's western agglomeration, adjacent to the M1 motorway. The PT5 hall, completed in the first quarter of 2026, is the fourth building in the park, which now offers 184,000 sqm of warehouse and industrial space. Other tenants include dm-Drogerie Markt, DHL, Gebrüder Weiss and Transdanubia. The building holds BREEAM New Construction Outstanding certification and complies with EU Taxonomy requirements, featuring heat pump heating and cooling, rooftop solar panels and a smart building management system.
