Requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio, with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
  • Must be able to work in the Kansas City, Missouri location with standard federal work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch, and be available to attend during government core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Knowledge and experience using word processing software to perform advanced editing, reformatting, transcription, scanning and indexing tasks in a professional environment.
  • Ability to operate as part of a team coordinating with ProSidian Engagement Team and government client staff; willingness to be in a contract W-2 employment setting.
  • Familiarity with the word processing role and knowledge of varied or specialized terminology used in technical or scientific documents (e.g., scientific reports, legal proceedings).
  • SCLS equivalence 01612 (Word Processor II) designation.
Responsibilities
  • Editing and reformatting written or electronic drafts, including correcting function codes, adjusting spacing and formatting, and standardizing headings, margins, and indentations.
  • Transcribing scientific reports, lab analyses, legal proceedings, or similar material from voice tapes or handwritten drafts, requiring knowledge of specialized or technical terminology.
  • Scanning and indexing documents.
  • Correcting copy and querying the originator of documents for missing information, improper formatting, or discrepancies in instructions.
  • Supervisor provides priorities and deadlines for ongoing assignments and may assign leadership of lower level word processors.
