What believers are saying

  • The June 2026 MAT Walk-In Clinic delivers same-day opioid treatment without appointments.
  • WellPower added fentanyl test strips, naloxone, and Suboxone access at its Recovery Center.
  • The July 2026 pharmacy expansion and travel clinic deepen patient retention and ancillary revenue.

What critics are saying

  • October 2024 cuts eliminated six co-responder jobs and WellPower’s virtual therapy program.
  • Colorado Medicaid enrollment swings pressure staffing, housing supports, and program continuity across both merged organizations.
  • Low reimbursement can trap WellPower in austerity, shrinking access and undermining the merger thesis.

What makes Wellpower unique

  • WellPower is Colorado’s largest community mental health center, spanning 30 sites and 200 community locations.
  • Its Denver model bundles crisis care, homeless outreach, pharmacy services, and addiction treatment under one roof.
  • The Jefferson Center merger created a larger statewide safety-net platform with broader behavioral-health coverage.

WellPower opens walk-in clinic for same-day opioid addiction treatment in Denver

WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
