AfterShip launches AI tool for post-purchase retail.

AfterShip launches AI tool for post-purchase retail. Fri, 4th Sep 2026 (Today) AfterShip has launched AfterShip Intelligence, an artificial intelligence product for post-purchase tracking, returns and shipping. Early users include Dr. Squatch and Naked Wardrobe. The launch adds automated exception handling, return review and delivery prediction to AfterShip's existing post-purchase software, used by more than 20,000 brands. The system is built on data collected since 2012 across more than 11 billion shipments, about 110 billion delivery checkpoints and more than 1,400 carriers. AfterShip is positioning the product around a part of online retail that often sits outside the spotlight, even though it shapes customer service costs and repeat purchases. Tracking updates, delivery problems and returns can influence revenue retention as much as support workloads. At the centre of the launch is AfterShip Agent, which AfterShip describes as its first AI agent for post-purchase operations. It starts with two uses: exception handling for shipment issues and return merchandise authorisation review. According to AfterShip, the agent identifies shipment problems, gathers order context, recommends a response and can carry out tasks that would otherwise require staff to move between several systems. Any financial or customer-facing decision still requires human approval. Results from initial users form a key part of the launch. Dr. Squatch used the product for exception handling and predictive delivery, while Naked Wardrobe deployed it for return reviews. Dr. Squatch said it reduced exception resolution time by more than 58% after using AfterShip Agent. The brand also said its most frequent "where is my order" tickets fell by 25%, while positive sentiment in agent-initiated conversations rose by 42%. Dr. Squatch also adopted AfterShip's delivery prediction tools in less time than it took with its previous provider, according to AfterShip. The company said the brand reached 94% on-time estimated delivery accuracy across 99.98% of orders. Naked Wardrobe reported faster handling of returns. The retailer said return reviews that had taken five to 10 minutes are now about 40% faster, with risk assessment and customer history shown in the same workflow. AfterShip said the agent can also identify which return merchandise authorisations are safe to approve automatically. At Naked Wardrobe, that has allowed 15% to 20% of RMAs to be resolved without manual review. Post-purchase focus The launch comes as technology suppliers push AI deeper into retail workflows beyond search, marketing and product discovery. AfterShip is targeting the operational work that begins after checkout, including failed deliveries, customer queries and refund decisions. The broader product set also includes proactive warnings on at-risk orders before standard tracking signals appear, personalised product recommendations and exchange suggestions aimed at preserving sales that might otherwise end in refunds. Merchants will also be able to use the software through application programming interfaces, Model Context Protocol servers and connectors to other AI tools, including Shopify Sidekick, Claude and ChatGPT. That reflects a broader shift in software towards linking specialist retail tools to general AI assistants already used by support and operations teams. Teddy Chan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at AfterShip, said the company sees post-purchase as an underused part of retail operations. "For years, post-purchase has been treated as a cost center, but it's one of the most valuable moments in the customer journey," Chan said. "As customer acquisition gets more expensive, brands can't afford to treat tracking and returns as back-office operations. We built AfterShip Intelligence to automate the work that slows teams down, predict issues before customers feel them, and give operators AI they can trust because they stay in control," he said. Dr. Squatch linked the software to efficiency gains in customer support. "As AI continues to reshape how brands operate, we see a real opportunity to apply that intelligence to the moments that happen after a purchase," said Joan Park, Senior Customer Experience Analyst at Dr. Squatch. "AfterShip Intelligence gives our team the context and automation to resolve delivery issues more efficiently, while keeping our focus on delivering a great customer experience. It's an important step toward making post-purchase a more intelligent part of the customer journey," Park said. Naked Wardrobe said the product helps its team focus on more complex cases. "Returns are an important part of the customer experience, and we want our team spending its time where human judgment adds the most value," said Jackie Avila, Head of Customer Service at Naked Wardrobe. "AfterShip Intelligence features help us automate the straightforward decisions while giving our team the context they need when a return requires a closer look. As AI becomes a bigger part of retail operations, this is the kind of practical automation that can make a meaningful difference for both teams and customers," Avila said.

AfterShip turns post-purchase from a cost center into an ai-powered revenue engine.

AfterShip turns post-purchase from a cost center into an ai-powered revenue engine. AfterShip Intelligence automates Exception Handling and returns, already driving measurable results at Dr. Squatch and Naked Wardrobe. AfterShip, the post-purchase platform powering branded customer experiences for 20,000+ brands globally, launched AfterShip Intelligence, bringing agentic automation and predictive intelligence to post-purchase tracking, returns, and shipping. Since 2012, AfterShip has operated behind the scenes of e-commerce, powering shipping, tracking, and returns for more than 20,000 brands. Over that time, it has produced the largest post-purchase dataset in the industry: 14 years of proprietary data spanning more than 11 billion shipments, approximately 110 billion delivery checkpoints, and 1,400+ carriers - standardized into a single engine. That is the foundation behind AfterShip Intelligence, a suite of proprietary domain models purpose-built for delivery prediction, exception forecasting, and return intelligence - not general-purpose AI adapted for retail. With AfterShip Intelligence, retailers can now automate operational work, identify problems before customers experience them, and turn every order into an opportunity to protect and grow revenue. Launch partners Dr. Squatch and Naked Wardrobe are seeing measurable results with AfterShip Intelligence. Since deploying AfterShip Agent for exception handling, Dr. Squatch has improved exception resolution time by more than 58% and reduced its most frequent "where is my order" tickets by 25%, while driving a 42% lift in positive sentiment on agent-initiated conversations, as the agent handles more customer interactions. The brand also deployed AfterShip's predictive delivery tools in weeks, compared with the four-plus months required by its previous provider, achieving 94% on-time estimated delivery accuracy across 99.98% of orders. At Naked Wardrobe, where the agent is deployed for RMA Review, return reviews that previously took 5 to 10 minutes are now roughly 40% faster, with Risk Assessment and Customer History built directly into the workflow. The agent also identifies which RMAs are safe to approve, allowing 15% to 20% of RMAs to be resolved automatically without manual review, a meaningful efficiency gain for a small team. "For years, post-purchase has been treated as a cost center, but it's one of the most valuable moments in the customer journey," said Teddy Chan, Founder and CEO at AfterShip. "As customer acquisition gets more expensive, brands can't afford to treat tracking and returns as back-office operations. We built AfterShip Intelligence to automate the work that slows teams down, predict issues before customers feel them, and give operators AI they can trust because they stay in control." At the center is AfterShip Agent, the company's first AI agent built specifically for post-purchase operations. Launching with Exception Handling and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Review, the agent proactively identifies shipment issues, gathers relevant context, recommends resolutions, and executes the tasks - work that today pulls operators across three to five disconnected systems to resolve a single order. Every action is explainable and reviewable, with human approval required for any financial or customer-facing decision. AfterShip Intelligence also embeds AI across the post-purchase journey: predictive estimated delivery dates that combine carrier data with AfterShip's real-time shipment intelligence, proactive flags of at-risk orders before traditional tracking signals appear, personalized product recommendations, and AI-powered exchange recommendations that retain revenue rather than issuing refunds. While much of the agentic commerce conversation has focused on helping shoppers discover and purchase products, AfterShip is bringing agents to what happens after the transaction. Through agent-first Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and one-click connectors, merchants can bring AfterShip's post-purchase intelligence into the AI tools they already use, including Shopify Sidekick, Claude, and ChatGPT. It's an important step toward making post-purchase a more intelligent part of the customer journey." "Returns are an important part of the customer experience, and we want our team spending its time where human judgment adds the most value," said Jackie Avila, Head of Customer Service at Naked Wardrobe. "AfterShip Intelligence features help us automate the straightforward decisions while giving our team the context they need when a return requires a closer look. As AI becomes a bigger part of retail operations, this is the kind of practical automation that can make a meaningful difference for both teams and customers."

7 best 17TRACK Order Tracking alternatives for Shopify (2026).

7 best 17TRACK Order Tracking alternatives for Shopify (2026). 17TRACK holds a strong 4.9-star rating and a genuinely competitive free tier - but AfterShip, Track123, and ParcelPanel each beat it on a specific ceiling: upsells, marketing integration, or price at scale. Alex Mashkovtsev Founder · Eng Lead Key takeaways * 17TRACK's 4.9 | /3,934-review rating and competitive free tier are genuinely strong - this isn't a 'bad app' switch. * At high order volumes, alternatives like Track123, TrackingMore, and ParcelPanel position their plans as more affordable than 17TRACK's $159/mo Premium tier. * AfterShip is the best overall pick for stores that want branded tracking pages paired with native post-purchase email/SMS automation. * ParcelPanel leads on branded-page upsell tooling, with AI product-recommendation widgets built into its tracking-page experience. * 17TRACK gates transit-time and delivery analytics behind its $159/mo Premium tier, while offering a strong free plan at the entry level. If you've outgrown 17TRACK Order Tracking's core feature set, AfterShip Order Tracking is the best overall alternative - it pairs a customizable branded tracking page with post-purchase upsell and email/SMS automation that 17TRACK doesn't natively offer. That said, 17TRACK itself is a genuinely solid app (4.9 stars across 3,934 Shopify reviews, with a free tier that's hard to beat), so this isn't a "run from a bad app" verdict. It's a segmented call: if cost at scale is your priority, Track123 is worth a look instead; if branded upsells are the whole point, ParcelPanel takes that spot. Who this is for: Shopify merchants already running 17TRACK - or comparing it before their first install - who've hit a specific ceiling: needing a more customizable branded tracking page, tighter post-purchase marketing integration, or better pricing once monthly order volume pushes them into 17TRACK's $49 or $159 tiers. 01 What 17TRACK does well (and where it falls short). 17TRACK Order Tracking's Shopify listing shows a 4.9-star average across 3,934 reviews - one of the strongest ratings in the category - with a free plan, Basic at $9/month, Pro at $49/month, and Premium at $159/month. That free tier is a real strength, and 17TRACK's branded tracking page is straightforward to set up even for merchants without design resources. * Strong free tier - a $0 entry plan that's competitive with the rest of the market. * Wide carrier coverage - 17TRACK advertises support for well over 1,000 carriers, comparable to the leading alternatives. * No built-in upsell tooling - the branded tracking page doesn't include product-recommendation widgets or other on-page marketing modules. * Analytics gated to the top tier - transit-time and on-time-delivery analytics are locked behind the $159/month Premium plan. 02 best overall alternative: AfterShip Order Tracking. AfterShip Order Tracking is a well-established name in Shopify's tracking category, with a free plan and paid tiers that scale with order volume. Where it differentiates from 17TRACK is feature depth: AfterShip bundles AI-assisted estimated delivery dates and native email/SMS post-purchase automation directly into its tracking timeline, closing the gap that 17TRACK leaves for merchants who want shipment events to trigger marketing flows without extra middleware. For stores that have outgrown basic carrier sync and want the tracking page itself to double as a marketing and retention surface, AfterShip is the more complete tool. 03 best free plan for small stores. If order volume is genuinely low, 17TRACK's own free plan is difficult to beat outright - it's priced at the entry point most small stores need and holds up well against the market. Track123 and TrackingMore both offer comparable free entry tiers, with paid plans that scale as volume grows, giving budget-conscious stores a viable path if they later outgrow 17TRACK's structure or pricing. ParcelPanel's plans, by contrast, lean toward stores that want upsell tooling built in from the start rather than the cheapest possible entry point. 04 best for high-volume and scaling brands. This is where 17TRACK's pricing curve gets steep: its top tier, Premium, runs $159/month. Several alternatives, including Track123, TrackingMore, and ParcelPanel, position their high-volume plans as more affordable than that, making them worth comparing once a store is consistently shipping a high volume of orders each month. Below that point, 17TRACK's Pro tier ($49/month) is roughly at parity with competitors' nearest plans, so the savings case is specific to scale, not universal. 05 best for branded tracking pages & post-purchase upsells. ParcelPanel differentiates itself from 17TRACK primarily through upsell tooling: AI-driven product recommendation widgets built directly into the branded tracking page, available from its entry paid tier. 17TRACK includes a branded page even on its Basic plan, but customization and on-page upsell modules simply aren't part of its feature set - a real gap for merchants trying to turn the post-purchase moment into repeat revenue. 06 17TRACK vs. Alternatives: fit at a glance. | App | Best For | Notable Strength | | 17TRACK Order Tracking | Budget-conscious stores with straightforward tracking needs | 4.9 | across 3,934 reviews; free plan through $159/mo Premium | | AfterShip Order Tracking | Stores that want the tracking page to double as a marketing surface | Native email/SMS automation and AI delivery estimates | | Track123 Order Tracking | Cost-conscious stores scaling order volume | Free entry tier with a lower-cost growth path | | ParcelPanel | Stores prioritizing branded post-purchase upsells | AI product-recommendation widgets on the tracking page | | TrackingMore Order Tracking | Stores wanting straightforward tracking on a budget | Free entry tier | Whichever ceiling you've hit - upsell tooling, marketing integration, or cost at scale - there's an alternative built around solving it specifically. Conclusion. 17TRACK Order Tracking earns its 4.9-star, 3,934-review standing - it's not a broken app, and its free tier is a genuine strength. But once a store needs branded upsell tooling, tighter post-purchase marketing automation, or a cheaper path at higher order volumes, the ceiling shows up fast. AfterShip Order Tracking is the best overall alternative for that combination of needs. If cost at scale is the only issue, Track123 is worth comparing instead; if the branded tracking page and on-page upsells are the priority, ParcelPanel is the stronger pick. 07 frequently asked questions. * Is 17TRACK Order Tracking a good app overall? - Yes - it holds a 4.9-star rating across 3,934 Shopify reviews and a competitive free plan. Its main limits are analytics gated behind its $159/month Premium tier and a lack of built-in upsell tooling. * What is the best free alternative to 17TRACK? - Track123 offers a comparable free tier plus a lower-cost path to scale as your order volume grows, making it worth a look if 17TRACK's paid tiers start to feel restrictive. * When does switching from 17TRACK actually save money? - Once your order volume is high enough to require 17TRACK's $159/month Premium tier, it's worth comparing alternatives like Track123, TrackingMore, and ParcelPanel, which position their plans more aggressively at that volume. * Does 17TRACK support post-purchase upsells on the tracking page? - Not natively - its branded tracking page lacks the AI product-recommendation upsell widgets that competitors like Track123, ParcelPanel, and AfterShip build into their paid tiers. Staci Americas x aftership: Branded shipment tracking, now supported by Staci Americas.

Staci Americas x aftership: Branded shipment tracking, now supported by Staci Americas. Staci Americas has partnered with AfterShip, the shipment tracking and customer engagement platform trusted by over 20,000 businesses worldwide, to give every brand a fully connected post-purchase experience from the moment an order ships to the moment it arrives at the door. Every touchpoint after an order ships is a chance to build trust or lose it. AfterShip makes sure Staci Americas brands are always building. Proactive Visibility Into Every Shipment, From the Moment It Ships Most brands know when an order leaves the warehouse. What happens between that moment and delivery is where exceptions compound, customers disengage, and support queues grow. AfterShip closes that gap, giving Staci Americas brands live visibility at every step. * Shipment visibility dashboard - a centralized view of all active shipments with standardized statuses, normalized carrier data, and real-time tracking across every carrier in Staci Americas' network, eliminating fragmented carrier portals across ecommerce, B2B, B2C, DTC, and omnichannel shipments. * Carrier auto-detection and real-time tracking - every shipment is identified and monitored from the moment it ships, so exceptions and delivery updates surface immediately rather than at end-of-day reporting. * AI-generated estimated delivery dates (EDDs) - accurate, data-driven arrival windows rather than static carrier estimates, reducing uncertainty and inbound delivery inquiries. Staci Americas and AfterShip give brand teams the same proactive visibility into outbound shipments as they have over their fulfillment operations - current, accurate, and ready to act on. Branded Tracking That Keeps Customers on Your Domain Every shipment sends customers to a tracking page. When that page belongs to a carrier, it's a dead end for your brand. No engagement, no revenue, no relationship. AfterShip puts that real estate back in your hands. * Branded tracking pages - hosted on the brand's own domain, delivering an average of 2.8x visits back to the brand's site per order and turning every tracking check into a re-engagement opportunity. * AI personalization and segmentation - targeted product recommendations on the tracking page, capturing 1-3% uplift in revenue and driving up to a 30% boost in repeat sales. For brands that have invested in the fulfillment operation, the AfterShip integration ensures that investment extends to every customer touchpoint after an order ships - accessible through the Staci Americas client portal without additional setup. Proactive Notifications That Reduce "WISMO" and Protect Your Brand Every 'Where is my order,' question costs real money in support time, tooling, and a customer experience that already went sideways. AfterShip's rule-based notification suite gets ahead of those questions before customers have to ask. * Rule-based delivery notifications - proactive alerts across 7+ shipment status events including in transit, out for delivery, delivered, and exception, reducing WISMO tickets by up to 75%. * Easy email editor - brand teams create and manage notification templates directly from the AfterShip dashboard, with workflow logic and automation built in so every communication reflects brand standards. * Multi-language support - 52+ languages so Staci Americas brands deliver a localized, on-brand notification experience to customers across every geography their fulfillment operation serves. With AfterShip, Staci Americas brands protect the customer experience on every shipment - not just the ones that trigger an exception. A Partnership That Makes Every Shipment Count: Staci Americas and AfterShip The Staci Americas and AfterShip partnership changes what post-purchase looks like for every brand Staci Americas, Inc. work with.
