Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • Professional engineer registration in Texas is required.
  • Four years of experience in the listed responsibilities is required.
  • Familiarity with local zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, and other design criteria is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to interact effectively with clients, staff, municipal authorities, vendors, and contractors.
  • The ability to attend City Council and client meetings as needed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical supervision and design for pavement, utilities, grading, site elements, and drainage.
  • Develop and manage clients, including maintaining successful relationships, financial accounting, and responsiveness.
  • Manage the demands of in-house and external surveying support.
  • Participate actively in civic, technical, and professional organizations and seek leadership roles.
  • Develop proposals, scopes, and fees, and track performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with City departments.
  • Present at hearings, commissions, and council meetings.
  • Perform site design for office, retail, industrial, and institutional buildings.
  • Perform residential subdivision projects from land acquisition through finished lots.
  • Perform municipal roadway, drainage, and planning projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience producing plans and managing tasks involving platting, zoning, and municipal permitting entitlements.
  • Experience with site planning and development master planning.
  • Experience with grading and drainage design.
  • Experience with street and alley design.
  • Experience with site design.
  • Experience with water and wastewater design.
  • Experience with hydrology and hydraulics analysis and design.
  • Experience with general civil design.
  • Experience with construction management.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
  • Experience with SWP3s.
