  • Experience serving private-sector clients, especially industrial, tertiary, or large corporate clients, is required.
  • Solid knowledge of energy-efficiency technologies, renewable thermal generation, electrification, industrial heating and cooling, photovoltaics, self-consumption, battery energy storage systems, monitoring, and operations and maintenance is required.

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments with private-sector clients across different sectors and under long-term contractual models is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, structure, and grow the operations team of project managers, commissioning technicians, and operations and maintenance leads as the ESCO project portfolio expands.

  • Validate that proposed solutions are operable, maintainable, and appropriate to the client's processes before making significant contractual commitments.
  • Review projects with future operations early to identify technical, performance, availability, client-facility integration, and maintainability risks.
  • Help define operational and risk-based go/no-go criteria to avoid projects the company cannot reliably execute or operate.
  • Define mitigation measures, responsibilities, guarantees, service-level agreements, and operational limits before final offers and contracts are concluded.
  • Act as the technical and operational lead for the client during project execution, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the implemented solution meets committed service levels, performance, savings, availability, or production targets.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, Technical Office, Proposals, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Health and Safety teams to ensure a unified project approach.
  • Translate client operational needs into technical requirements, operating procedures, and measurable commitments.
  • Help define technical standards, execution methodologies, and operational checklists for ESCO projects.
  • Document lessons from each project and turn them into repeatable criteria for future proposals, contracts, and operations.
  • Support standardization of solutions and operating models across technology types, including heating, cooling, photovoltaics, battery energy storage systems, energy efficiency, energy management, and renewable gases.
  • Help build a more selective, disciplined ESCO operating model aligned with actual execution and operational capacity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Postgraduate training in project management, energy, sustainability, or operations management is valued.

Acciona acquires 80% of Vertical Earth to accelerate US infrastructure growth

Acciona has agreed to acquire 80% of Vertical Earth, a Georgia-based infrastructure contractor, consolidating Atlanta as the strategic centre for its Infrastructure division's growth in the United States. The deal is expected to close before year-end, subject to regulatory approvals. Brett Johnson, Vertical Earth's founder and CEO, will retain 20% and continue leading the company. Founded in 1997, Vertical Earth generated revenues of $217 million (€191 million) in 2025 and employs over 600 professionals in Georgia and Florida. The acquisition strengthens Acciona's self-execution capacity in a strategic market. The US represents 20% of the global infrastructure industry, with potential contracts worth $303 billion this year. Acciona's Infrastructure division is expanding across the US with major projects including the SR400 motorway in Atlanta and bridge replacement over the Calcasieu River in Louisiana.

Acciona has injected €40 million into its electric motorcycle subsidiary, Silence, to support growth and strengthen its financial structure. This follows a previous €62 million investment earlier in the year. Silence faced production halts due to low demand and high inventory levels, leading to a temporary employment regulation in 2024. The company's revenue was €18 million in 2024, down from €45.6 million in 2023. The capital now totals €102 million.
