Responsibilities
  • Process corporate deposit account activities, including transaction requests, incoming and outgoing cheque clearing, cashier's orders, certified cheques, BAI file processing, account sweeps, term deposits, and account servicing requests.
  • Maintain customer accounts, including account opening, closure, maintenance, and documentation validation.
  • Prepare client documentation, including account statements, transaction confirmations, and required reports.
  • Perform end-of-day verification, account reconciliations, and transaction balancing activities; investigate and resolve discrepancies, exceptions, and outstanding items.
  • Prepare daily and monthly operational reports and key performance indicators for management.
  • Complete quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering, risk management, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports in accordance with CDIC, FINTRAC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, user acceptance testing, and operational change projects.
  • Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve operational inquiries and transaction-related issues.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational procedures while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

MUFG appoints Edward Bell as Head of Research for Middle East and North Africa. September 29, 2026 London and Dubai, 29 September 2026 - MUFG today announces the appointment of Edward Bell as Head of Research Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In his new role, Edward will lead MUFG's research coverage of the Middle East and Turkey, providing macroeconomic insights and analysis for clients and the bank. His coverage will also include energy markets, with a focus on crude oil and natural gas. Prior to joining MUFG, Edward worked at Emirates NBD where he spent over a decade covering MENA macroeconomics, markets and commodities, as well as rates and FX. Edward also worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong and London as a commodities and Middle East country analyst. Based in Dubai, Edward will report locally to Wael Al Sharif, Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) for MENA, and functionally to Derek Halpenny, Head of Research, Global Markets EMEA & International Securities, for his global research responsibilities. IIFL Home Finance secures a $150 million JICA loan to expand affordable housing finance for low-income women across urban and peri-urban India IIFL Home Finance has signed a USD 150 million loan agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to expand affordable housing finance for women from economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups (LIG) across India. The financing will be on-lent through IIFL Home Finance to support home acquisitions by eligible women borrowers in urban and peri-urban markets. The project will be implemented through a co-financing arrangement involving the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and private financial institutions, including MUFG Bank. Focus On Women Borrowers The JICA funding is aimed at widening access to formal housing finance among low-income women and supporting homeownership, financial inclusion and economic empowerment. According to JICA, women account for around 30 per cent of housing finance users in India, while about 95 per cent of the country's existing urban housing shortage is concentrated among low-income households. India faces an urban housing shortage of more than 10 million units, with demand projected to increase by another 22 million units by 2030. The project is aligned with the government's Housing for All initiative and is intended to channel long-term funding towards home acquisition by low-income women. Japan Expertise To Support Housing Finance Alongside the financing, JICA, in collaboration with the Japan Housing Finance Agency and other partners, plans to provide training to Indian housing finance regulators and IIFL Home Finance employees. The training will cover affordable housing, housing policy and decarbonised building practices, with the objective of sharing Japanese experience and strengthening institutional capacity in India's housing finance sector. The agreement adds to IIFL Home Finance's recent access to institutional funding for affordable housing. In February, the company signed a USD 300 million loan arrangement involving ADB and other financial institutions to support affordable housing finance, particularly for women and lower-income borrowers. IIFL Home Finance said it had served over 4.89 lakh customers as of March 31, 2026, including 4.62 lakh women borrowers, and operates 315 branches across 18 states and two Union Territories.
