Aritzia outlines its objectives and expansion plans in the United States. (Photo: The Canadian Press / Christopher Katsarov) Aritzia says it plans to increase its net revenue to between $9.5 billion and $10.5 billion in fiscal 2032 as part of its five-year strategic plan. The clothing retailer says this target corresponds to a compound annual growth rate of between 15% and 17%. Jennifer Wong, Aritzia's chief executive officer, emphasizes that business in the United States is delivering exceptional results and will remain its main growth market. "We are convinced that our unique strengths, our long-term vision and our highly valued everyday luxury experience place us in a good position to generate sustainable and profitable growth, as well as enduring value for our shareholders." Part of Aritzia's plan is to open 12 to 14 stores per year in the United States through the end of its fiscal 2032, while seeking to expand its presence beyond Canada and the United States. It aims to have 220 stores in total by the end of this year. Over the past 12 months, the company has opened 14 new boutiques, which generate higher sales per square foot than previously opened stores. Aritzia had already unveiled plans for six other locations in Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevada and Texas. The retailer also plans to open five to seven stores per year, saying it will "leverage prime real estate opportunities". The company has already secured more spacious premises, thereby increasing the average size of its stores, which was 6,000 square feet in 2016. Now, the target for some locations is 10,000 square feet, and flagship stores can exceed 30,000 square feet. The company also plans to broaden the range of its offerings for its customers in order to capture additional market share. New product categories are expected to generate about $1.5 billion in additional net revenue by fiscal 2032. Aritzia is targeting net revenue from online sales of $4.1 billion to $4.5 billion in North America in 2032, growth that is expected to be driven by expanding the product range, continued investment in digital marketing, the launch of a loyalty program and continuous improvement of the company's digital ecosystem. Earnings per share growth is expected to outpace revenue growth, according to the company. "Prudent" targets Royal Bank of Canada analyst Irene Nattel notes that these targets "seem entirely achievable" and "probably a little conservative". "We continue to see substantial upside potential in Aritzia's share price as the company implements its growth plan," she says in a note. Earlier this month, Aritzia announced that its second-quarter earnings had nearly tripled from last year. Its net income for the period ended Aug. 30 rose 204% from a year earlier to $201.7 million, or $1.70 per share, compared with 56 cents a year earlier. Ms. Wong says Aritzia, which also owns the TNA, Wilfred, Reigning Champ and Babaton brands, is managing to reach its fourth generation of customers - a wide range of consumers who do not all fit a single customer profile. She attributes part of the brand's recent momentum to an app launched by Aritzia nearly a year ago, which has significantly boosted online sales, as well as to the general appeal of the products offered by the retailer.
Aritzia lays out revenue targets, U.S. expansion plans in 5-year outlook. VANCOUVER - Aritzia Inc. says it expects to grow its net revenue to between $9.5 billion and $10.5 billion in its 2032 financial year as part of its five-year strategic plan to double its customer base. Canadian Press Oct 27, 2026 10:27 AM VANCOUVER - Aritzia Inc. says it expects to grow its net revenue to between $9.5 billion and $10.5 billion in its 2032 financial year as part of its five-year strategic plan to double its customer base. The Vancouver-based retailer said the target represents a 15 per cent to 17 per cent compounded annual growth rate. Aritzia CEO Jennifer Wong said the business in the United States is delivering exceptional results and will remain its primary growth market. "At the same time, we will begin taking an important step toward our long-term ambition of becoming famous around the world," she said in a news release. "We believe our unique strengths, long-term mindset and much-loved everyday luxury experience position us to deliver sustained, profitable growth and enduring value for our shareholders." Part of Aritzia's plan will entail opening 12 to 14 stores annually in the United States through its 2032 financial year as it also looks to expand its reach beyond Canada and the United States. It is aiming to have 220 total stores by the end of that year. In the past 12 months, the company has opened 14 new boutiques, which are generating higher sales per square foot than past cohorts of stores. Aritzia previously revealed plans for six more locations in Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevada and Texas. The retailer is also looking to expand five to seven stores annually, saying it "will capitalize on premier real estate opportunities." It has already been taking over larger sites, expanding its average store size from 6,000 square feet in 2016. Now, the target for some locations is 10,000 square feet and flagships can be more than 30,000 square feet. Meanwhile, the company said it is planning to expand the breadth of its offerings for customers in order to capture additional share of closet. Product expansion categories are expected to contribute around $1.5 billion in incremental net revenue by its 2032 financial year. Aritzia is targeting $4.1 billion to $4.5 billion in North America digital net revenue in 2032, with growth expected to be driven by product expansion, continued investment in digital marketing, the introduction of a loyalty program and ongoing improvements to the company's digital ecosystem. Earnings per share growth is expected outpace revenue growth, the company said. RBC analyst Irene Nattel said the targets "look highly achievable" and "likely somewhat conservative." "We continue to view substantial upside in (Aritzia's) share price as the company executes on its growth plan," she said in a note. Earlier this month, Aritzia reported that its second-quarter earnings roughly tripled from last year. Its net income for the period ended Aug. 30 increased by 204 per cent from last year to $201.7 million, which amounted to $1.70 per diluted share compared with 56 cents a year before. Wong said Aritzia, which is also behind the TNA, Wilfred, Reigning Champ and Babaton brands, is managing to reach its fourth generation of shoppers - a wide swath of consumers who don't all fit a single customer profile. She attributed some of the brand's recent momentum to an app Aritzia launched almost a year ago, which has significantly boosted digital sales, and the broad appeal of the retailer's merchandise. Uniqlo to open downtown Vancouver flagship at Pacific Centre. Uniqlo, the Japanese clothing chain, plans to launch a flagship at CF Pacific Centre in spring 2027, its first store in the heart of downtown Vancouver's shopping core, Retail Insider reported. The outlet said the store should cover roughly 37,000 square feet. The store will take up part of the old Nordstrom site at Granville and Georgia streets, where landlord Cadillac Fairview is carving the space into premises for several large tenants. Aritzia and Simons have also signed on to the project. Jeffrey Berkowitz, co-CEO of Aurora Retail Group in Montreal, acted for Uniqlo on the lease, according to Retail Insider. He has handled real estate needs for the chain as it has grown its Canadian footprint. A long-awaited downtown presence. The chain has been in Metro Vancouver since 2017 and runs six stores in the region, yet it has never had a downtown Vancouver outlet, even though it operates major stores in the centres of Toronto and Montréal. Uniqlo's interest in downtown dates to at least 2014, two years ahead of its Canadian debut. That June, Retail Insider reported the company was hunting for a large space on Robson Street, and later reporting showed it had talked about taking a planned three-storey building in the 1000 block of Robson beside Sephora. The building was ultimately finished at 1067 Robson Street; Foot Locker opened a flagship there in December 2020. Founder Tadashi Yanai said in 2017 that a downtown Vancouver flagship could open as soon as 2018. That plan never came to pass, and the chain stayed out of the city's core while adding suburban stores. Six stores across the region. Uniqlo's first B.C. store opened in October 2017 at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby; that two-level outlet measured about 20,630 square feet, according to Retail Insider. Stores followed at Langley's Willowbrook Shopping Centre, Coquitlam Centre, Surrey's Guildford Town Centre and CF Richmond Centre, and a sixth regional location launched at Tsawwassen Mills in Delta in October 2026. Assuming no changes to its existing regional stores before opening day, the Pacific Centre outlet would be the chain's seventh in Metro Vancouver, and at about 37,000 square feet it would be well larger than any of its other B.C. locations. Uniqlo has not revealed the store's exact selling area, how many levels it will have or how its entrances will be arranged. Former Nordstrom space divided among retailers. The deal is the newest piece of Cadillac Fairview's redevelopment of the former Nordstrom flagship at the mall. Nordstrom filled about 230,000 square feet on three floors until it shut down its Canadian business in 2023, Retail Insider reported. An earlier building permit application envisioned four retail units, each with its own street entrance. Aritzia, based in Vancouver, is building a multi-level flagship of about 41,800 square feet at Robson and Howe streets that will include a restaurant and is expected to open in 2027. Simons, from Québec, is readying a three-floor store of 92,000 square feet for a fall 2027 debut and has announced it will invest more than $55 million. It will be the chain's second store in the Vancouver area, after Park Royal in West Vancouver. Adding up the reported sizes, the three retailers would occupy roughly 170,800 square feet of the former Nordstrom space, which on paper leaves about 59,200 square feet. Retail Insider cautioned that this number may not equal the space open to another tenant, because the project could alter circulation, common areas and the way each premises is measured. How any leftover space will be configured has not been publicly confirmed. Part of a national expansion. Uniqlo launched in Canada in September 2016 at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre before moving into Québec with a flagship at the Montréal Eaton Centre. Parent company Fast Retailing counted 39 Canadian stores as of Sept. 30, 2026, with more openings slated as part of the chain's fall expansion program. Cadillac Fairview has taken a similar approach at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, splitting the old Nordstrom store there among several tenants including Simons, Eataly and Nike. The Vancouver flagship is due in spring 2027, before Simons opens in the fall, while the tenant and layout for any remaining space in the former Nordstrom building have not yet been announced. Aritzia TSE: ATZ outlined a five-year growth plan targeting approximately CAD 9.5 billion to CAD 10.5 billion in net revenue by fiscal 2032, roughly double its expected fiscal 2027 revenue, alongside adjusted EBITDA margin expansion to 21%. At an investor day in New York, CEO Jennifer Wong said the company's next phase will focus on expanding its Everyday Luxury brand in the U.S., scaling digital commerce, broadening its product assortment and beginning a measured international expansion. The U.S. is expected to account for more than 85% of incremental growth through fiscal 2032. "We're not building for just the next five years," Wong said. "We're building the capacity, capability, and resilience to keep growing beyond this plan." Revenue, margin and capital targets. CFO Todd Ingledew said Aritzia expects fiscal 2027 revenue of CAD 4.78 billion to CAD 4.88 billion, more than CAD 1.1 billion above the target set at its 2022 investor day. The company expects a 20% adjusted EBITDA margin in fiscal 2027, compared with its prior 19% target. For the fiscal 2027-to-fiscal 2032 period, Aritzia is targeting 15% to 17% compound annual revenue growth. Ingledew said the company expects adjusted EBITDA margin to rise by about 100 basis points by fiscal 2032, supported by gross-margin improvement and leverage on fixed costs, while continuing investments in technology, digital initiatives and international expansion. The company expects to invest about CAD 2 billion in capital expenditures over the next five years, or approximately 5% to 6% of revenue annually. The planned investment includes: * Approximately CAD 1.1 billion to nearly double retail square footage. * Approximately CAD 500 million to add roughly 2 million square feet of U.S. distribution capacity. * Approximately CAD 400 million for technology, its digital roadmap, office expansion and capital maintenance. After funding growth initiatives, Aritzia plans to return about 50% of free cash flow to shareholders through repurchases, representing an estimated CAD 2 billion over five years. The company expects to build its cash balance to approximately CAD 3 billion by the end of fiscal 2032. U.S. Boutiques and digital commerce. Executive Vice President of Real Estate Karen Janes said the company expects to have 87 U.S. boutiques by the end of fiscal 2027 and 160 by fiscal 2032, with a potential for 200 stores at maturity. Aritzia plans to open 12 to 14 boutiques annually in the U.S. through fiscal 2032 and enter 15 to 18 additional U.S. markets. Discover more MarketBeat All Access MarketBeat Research Tools The company also expects to reposition five to seven existing boutiques annually. Janes said new boutiques are targeted to achieve a 12- to 18-month payback period, while current new-store performance is running at less than 12 months, according to Ingledew. Janes said a new boutique in a market has generated, on average, an approximately 65% lift in digital sales in that market. Through fiscal 2032, Aritzia expects total retail square footage to grow at a mid-teens annual rate. Chief Digital Officer Margot Johnson said digital revenue is expected to exceed CAD 4.1 billion to CAD 4.5 billion in the U.S. and Canada by fiscal 2032, representing about half of Aritzia's expected total growth. The company projects roughly 20% digital revenue CAGR over the period. Johnson said the Aritzia app had more than 2.5 million downloads before its first anniversary and now generates roughly one-third of the company's digital business. The company plans to introduce a loyalty program spanning boutiques and digital channels, redesign its website and continue investing in technology, data, AI and customer experiences. Product and international expansion. Founder and Executive Chairman Brian Hill said product assortment expansion represents a CAD 2 billion opportunity, of which Aritzia expects about CAD 1.5 billion to be incremental revenue by fiscal 2032. The company sees room to expand denim, non-ready-to-wear categories and warm-weather assortments. Aritzia plans to launch a new denim collection in spring 2027, followed by a second phase in fall 2027. Hill said denim currently represents less than 5% of Aritzia's sales, compared with 20% to 30% or more at certain competitors. The company's non-ready-to-wear categories, including handbags, shoes, jewelry, beauty products and warm-weather accessories, currently represent about 5% of sales, he said. Hill said the new categories will be Aritzia-branded. He added that the company is evaluating its approach to menswear and Reigning Champ, which it acquired previously, but said its primary focus remains the opportunities outlined for Aritzia's core business. International expansion will contribute about 10% of incremental growth through fiscal 2032, according to Wong. Aritzia is targeting CAD 500 million in annual international net revenue by the end of fiscal 2032, with the contribution roughly balanced between digital and boutiques. Wong said Aritzia has shipped to 171 of the 180 countries it serves and has recorded more than 162,000 orders through its international website. Sales outside Canada and the U.S. have more than doubled, she said. The company plans to prioritize markets with strong demand signals, similar fashion preferences and compatible operational conditions as it begins opening boutiques outside North America.
