Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a customer-centric engineering role such as Applications, Sales, or Product Engineering, or 5 years of experience directly related to the required duties and responsibilities in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Technical industry knowledge in appliances, consumer goods, automotive, commercial vehicles, power distribution, capital equipment, medical devices, and/or technology.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings with the associated manufacturing requirements.
  • Skill in using business software and technology.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in qualifying specific requests for quotation and participate as needed in preparing and presenting proposals for qualified new business prospects in coordination with the Business Development and Account Manager teams.
  • Develop business opportunities through site visits, emails, and phone correspondence.
  • Develop solutions to prospect requirements that meet technical needs and provide increased value through Value Analysis and Design for Manufacture support.
  • Provide guidance and support in the cost-estimating process in coordination with Cost Analysts and work with Sales to prepare competitive proposals for new business.
  • Provide technical support for managing new programs, working with New Product Introduction and plant Project Leads to speed the transition through first article and Production Part Approval Process to production start-up.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to the Account Management team regarding component selection, engineering change evaluations, and Value Analysis initiatives.
