Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
Handle with Care and Abuse and Neglect training is required; the employer provides the training.
An active driver's license is required.
A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The employee must be able to multitask, prioritize work, and use strong time management skills.
The employee must successfully pass a background check, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination, and provide positive employment references.
The employee must be able to perform the stated physical and sensory functions, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients hospitalized for psychiatric and emotional disorders.
Provide safe transportation to and from the facility.
Foster a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Maintain ongoing communication with nursing staff.
Actively contribute to the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the hospital.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, phone triage, telehealth, case management, or a combination of these areas is preferred.
Experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital is preferred.
We are seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician (MHT) and Driver to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients hospitalized for psychiatric and emotional disorders, while also providing safe transportation to and from the facility. The MHT will support the hospital’s philosophy of care by fostering a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients, maintaining ongoing communication with nursing staff, and actively contributing to the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
Education: High school diploma/GED required.
Required certifications: CPR (American Heart or American Red Cross), Handle with Care and Abuse and Neglect (training required and employer provided)
Required licenses: Active driver's license
Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting, phone triage, tele-health or case management or combination of education and experience. Experience in a free-standing psychiatric hospital preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize with strong time management skills.
Screening: Must successfully pass background check, MVR, drug screen, physical and be able to provide positive employment references.
Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained period of time, walk, pull, lift, raise and move objects from position to position (up to 50 lbs), finger grasp; feel sizes, shapes, temperatures, and textures; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly; visually detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, assess; perceive the nature of sound with or without correction; perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, or fingers.
