CorePower Yoga plans 20+ new studios in key markets across US.

CorePower Yoga plans 20+ new studios in key markets across US. Published: September 29, 2026 1/3 free articles used this month. Now under new leadership, the yoga giant is expanding in New York, Miami, Nashville and Southern California while entering new markets including Long Island and New Jersey CorePower Yoga is putting its expansion plans into action, with more than 20 new studios expected to open in 2026 as the yoga giant builds out its presence in major U.S. fitness markets. The 220-plus-location brand is targeting a mix of new and existing markets, including flagship studios in Downtown Brooklyn, Coral Gables in Miami and The Gulch in Nashville. CorePower is also making first-time entries into Long Island, Long Beach, California, and New Jersey, where a Hoboken studio is planned. The growth push comes shortly after Dan Lynn took over as CorePower CEO in July, when the former Inspire Brands executive said he planned to "accelerate" the company's studio growth. CorePower had roughly 20 studios in development at the time. Now, the company says it anticipates opening more than 20 new studios annually going forward. The expansion is already underway. CorePower has opened studios this year in Ardmore, Pennsylvania; Long Beach; Del Mar Highlands, California; and Roslyn, New York, the latter marking its entrance into Long Island. "Our 2026 studio expansion reflects years of strategic planning and disciplined groundwork," CorePower chief growth officer Abby Gilbertson said. "We're not chasing growth for its own sake - we're investing in communities where students have already shown us they want a deeper, more connected studio experience." Of the 20 leases CorePower has signed for 2026, 18 are for newly built locations in residential or mixed-use developments. The new studios are also designed to reflect changes in how CorePower says members are using its spaces. Locations will generally feature practice rooms accommodating 30 to 35 mats, upgraded locker rooms and larger communal areas where members can spend time before and after class. CorePower is also prioritizing real estate near coffee shops, juice bars and other wellness businesses. Founded in 2002, CorePower now operates more than 220 studios across 23 states and Washington, D.C. While yoga remains at the center of the concept, its programming has broadened to include strength training, cardio, mobility and recovery. The company has also been experimenting with new wellness technology, including a partnership with HigherDose that brought red and near-infrared light panels into select studios and a tie-up with Oura designed to use biometric data to inform members' class recommendations. The new openings suggest physical expansion will be another major priority under Lynn, whose background includes helping oversee a portfolio of large-scale restaurant brands including Dunkin', Arby's and Buffalo Wild Wings at Inspire Brands. When CorePower announced his appointment this summer, Lynn said he was joining the company to "listen, learn and build" as it accelerated studio growth. Just a few months into his tenure, that expansion is beginning to take shape across the country.

CorePower Yoga hits 12.7M annual visits with double-digit membership growth

CorePower Yoga operates 225 corporate-owned studios and is experiencing double-digit year-over-year growth in both membership and revenue. The company plans to open 20 new studios in 2026 and approximately 27 to 28 in 2027. Attendance has grown approximately 20% year over year, reaching 12.7 million annual studio visits. CorePower attracted nearly 600,000 new students last year. The company's average member visits six to eight times per month. CorePower's chief growth officer Abby Gilbertson attributes the success to creating a product that functions as a community and becomes part of customers' daily routines. CorePower is expanding in dense urban markets like Downtown Brooklyn whilst also pursuing suburban locations. The company positions studios near apartments, offices, and retail to become customers' "third place" beyond home and work.
