Requirements
  • One year of experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree in public administration, sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or another related social science; or two years of casework experience including one year performing functional-ability assessments and a bachelor's degree in the listed fields; or one year of assessment experience and a bachelor's degree in social welfare; or an equivalent combination of experience or training including 12 semester credit hours in the listed fields.
  • Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a certified assessor, obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Certification as a Protective Services worker must be acquired and maintained.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license, good driving record, and fully insured vehicle.
  • A valid driver's license and access to transportation for required meetings, trainings, and occasional home visits.
  • Ability to work independently within established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate staff work, and delegate authority and responsibility.
  • Written and oral communication skills, advocacy skills, professional ethics, and the ability to lead and manage in a team setting.
  • Ability to handle stress.
  • Computer utilization skills and ability to work effectively in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment physical, drug testing, and criminal history clearance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds for distances of 15 feet or less.
Responsibilities
  • Establish procedures and guidelines for quality assurance across all agency departments in alignment with relevant program requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems, establish standards, train staff, address quality issues, recommend improvements, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Screen, review, and assign reports of need.
  • Provide clinical supervision, training, and programmatic oversight to agency staff.
  • Support Protective Services functions by screening and assigning cases.
  • Perform Protective Services duties as necessary.
  • Evaluate and monitor individual units and employees, identify strengths and problems, and determine training needs.
  • Review and analyze case records for completeness and adherence to established standards.
  • Maintain Agency Assessor certification and conduct supervisory reviews of Functional Eligibility Determination assessments.
  • Participate in case conferences with staff, external agencies, providers, consumers, and families to ensure service delivery.
  • Convene and participate in agency, management, team, and staff meetings.
  • Participate in orientation, assigned in-service training, and regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Provide routine backup to other agency supervisors.
  • Support and supervise case managers during after-hours on-call work.
  • Represent the agency in media outlets and at in-person events.
  • Apply an ethical and professional framework to areas of responsibility.
  • Follow applicable policies, laws, regulations, codes of ethics, confidentiality requirements, and agency procedures.
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events and meetings.
  • Travel regularly to required meetings and occasionally conduct home visits.
Desired Qualifications
