About the job
- Qualified Chartered Accountant from a recognised institution.
- At least 3-5 years' experience in the capacity of Finance Manager.
- Well versed in the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry and possess an understanding and appreciation of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Sound knowledge of hotel applications including SUN, Opera, Micros, and FMC; FMC is mandatory.
- Advanced Microsoft skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Be responsible and accountable for all aspects of accounting and finance, including financial preparation and reporting in accordance with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry, cash flow management, management of the annual financial year-end audit under International Financial Reporting Standards, and implementation and adherence to best-practice control procedures.
- Work alongside the finance and operational teams to guide and participate in the execution and preparation of the monthly financial close, including the trial balance, balance sheet, and profit and loss statement.
- Review, validate, and approve journal vouchers, balance sheet schedules, and reconciliation statements.
- Participate in monthly property-level profit and loss reviews and perform analytical reviews of performance.
- Prepare cash flow statements using direct and indirect methods and critically analyse monthly cash positions with explanations.
- Support, review, and validate amounts due to property owners and help resolve finance-related queries.
- Identify control and process weaknesses or inefficiencies, propose improvements, discuss them with stakeholders, and assist with implementing enhancement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with and support stakeholders and senior executives.
