Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to hear and comprehend directions and perform sedentary to heavy work.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment of all types.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

  • Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings without an elevator.

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to drive cars or trucks as needed.
  • Must communicate effectively with management, supervision, and field workers.
  • Must have talking, reading, and writing comprehension sufficient to give and receive directions and perform work and safety policies.
  • Must be able to use mathematics and complete calculations.
  • Must be able to work at various tempos and concentrate amid distractions.
  • Must possess decision-making skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to remember, examine, and observe details.
  • Must have strong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to serve as a mentor.
Responsibilities
  • Order tools and materials for delivery at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confer with management to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and construction schedules are followed.
  • Prepare or review reports on progress, material usage, and cost, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
  • Communicate and coordinate subcontractors to meet company expectations.
  • Perform quality control.
  • Develop employees.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
  • Support and coordinate with the jobsite superintendent and project management to direct construction activities in the field.
  • Study specifications to plan construction procedures based on start and completion times, staffing requirements, and other variables for each construction phase.
  • Direct field personnel and subcontractors in executing work and coordinate construction phases to prevent delays.
  • Learn and understand work-related safety hazards and safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
  • Work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
