It covers the full project life cycle, from engineering, procurement, and construction to owning, operating, and maintaining power plants and related infrastructure. It differentiates itself through vertical integration and a long history of shifting from general construction to a pure-play renewable and sustainable infrastructure group with a large, globally diversified portfolio. Its goal is to be a leading global developer and operator of sustainable infrastructure, expanding clean-energy capacity and reducing carbon emissions.

  • July 2026 Vertical Earth adds $217 million revenue and 600 workers in Georgia and Florida.
  • June 2026's £125 million green loan shows lenders still fund Acciona's sustainability-linked growth.

Acciona acquires 80% of Vertical Earth to accelerate US infrastructure growth

Acciona has agreed to acquire 80% of Vertical Earth, a Georgia-based infrastructure contractor, consolidating Atlanta as the strategic centre for its Infrastructure division's growth in the United States. The deal is expected to close before year-end, subject to regulatory approvals. Brett Johnson, Vertical Earth's founder and CEO, will retain 20% and continue leading the company. Founded in 1997, Vertical Earth generated revenues of $217 million (€191 million) in 2025 and employs over 600 professionals in Georgia and Florida. The acquisition strengthens Acciona's self-execution capacity in a strategic market. The US represents 20% of the global infrastructure industry, with potential contracts worth $303 billion this year. Acciona's Infrastructure division is expanding across the US with major projects including the SR400 motorway in Atlanta and bridge replacement over the Calcasieu River in Louisiana.

Acciona injects €40M into Silence

Acciona has injected €40 million into its electric motorcycle subsidiary, Silence, to support growth and strengthen its financial structure. This follows a previous €62 million investment earlier in the year. Silence faced production halts due to low demand and high inventory levels, leading to a temporary employment regulation in 2024. The company's revenue was €18 million in 2024, down from €45.6 million in 2023. The capital now totals €102 million.
