Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering.
  • Experience in weld engineering and manufacturing engineering, preferably in modular fabrication, defense, energy, or industrial equipment sectors.
  • Active AWS Certified Welder Inspector certification; nondestructive examination experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in process development, design for manufacturability, and production scaling.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization, modular product platforms, and structural weldments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and compliance standards.
  • Ability to perform analytical, problem-solving, and project management work.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and walk fabrication areas.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for modular fabricated systems, containerized enclosures, and steel structures.
  • Develop weld mapping and work instructions.
  • Use computer-aided design tools, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD, to design fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions for scalable production.
  • Translate engineering design requirements into robust and efficient production processes.
  • Lead new product introduction efforts from prototype through full-rate production.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve flow, and optimize floor layouts.
  • Integrate automated and digital manufacturing technologies where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to evaluate manufacturability and align engineering intent with production capability.
  • Use enterprise resource planning systems to manage process documentation and support real-time operations visibility.
  • Mentor technicians and junior engineers in manufacturing engineering best practices.
  • Travel to customer sites or GTI facilities as needed, up to 5%.
Desired Qualifications
  • Nondestructive examination experience.
  • Experience with containerized heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, power distribution, or control system enclosures.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and industrial coatings.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional, or related process improvement disciplines.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics or finite element analysis simulation tools.
  • NetSuite experience.

GTI Fabrication is a manufacturer of purpose-built modular structures for energy storage, data centers, defense, and industrial uses. Its in-house capabilities cover design, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and deployment support. The company builds containerized and modular systems to customer specifications at U.S. manufacturing facilities. GTI manufactures modular systems whose structural, electrical, mechanical, and customer-equipment requirements are integrated before deployment, making its offering broader than metal fabrication and inclusive of testing, logistics, and deployment readiness.
