About the company

Medicentres Canada runs community medical clinics for individuals and families across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Patients visit family physicians through scheduled appointments or walk-in care, while specialists work with those doctors on more focused medical concerns. The clinics combine ongoing family medicine with treatment for everyday illnesses and injuries, giving patients access to routine medical care outside a hospital setting. Alongside insured visits, the business conducts medical examinations and other uninsured services that patients pay for separately. Founded in 1979, Medicentres is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta.

What believers are saying

  • Physicians get administrative support: Medicentres teams handle scheduling, billing, premises and medical supplies.
  • Physicians choose practice arrangements: Medicentres supports full-time, part-time, casual and locum work with scheduling flexibility.
  • The temporary Medicentres manager at Hermitage and Dickinsfield advertises $57,000-$62,000 compensation for full-time work.

What critics are saying

  • Permanence is uncertain: Medicentres advertises six months for its temporary full-time Hermitage and Dickinsfield manager, with possible permanent extension.
  • Capilano nursing spans irregular hours: Medicentres lists days, evenings and weekends for its part-time licensed practical nurse float.
  • Participation limits Medicentres' Alberta occupational injury program: employers must enroll formally and commit to modified work.

What makes Medicentres Canada unique

  • Fastrack separates minor care: Medicentres runs a physician-directed program for specified conditions through appointments and walk-ins.
  • Medicentres extends Alberta injury care: virtual visits serve injured workers living and working in remote areas without nearby clinics.
  • Medicentres has a nonprofit health parent: Medavie spans benefits management, primary care and emergency medical services.
