Requirements
  • Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to meet legal license, certification, and registration requirements where applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with or perform complex clinical diagnostic eye examinations and procedures as delegated by the optometry, ophthalmology, and acute eye care teams.
  • Complete ophthalmic imaging tests ordered by physicians, including Amler tests, stereo tests, applanation tonometry, and Goldmann visual field testing.
  • Perform complex clinical diagnostic eye imaging and procedures within the scope of certification; conduct patient intake activities, perform routine technical procedures, administer topical medications, and assist with procedures.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally across and within the department to facilitate smooth workflow and positively represent the department throughout the organization.
