About the company

Axsome Therapeutics develops therapies for central nervous system disorders. Its focus is on research, development, and commercialization of treatments for conditions such as major depressive disorder, treatment-resistant depression, Alzheimer's agitation, migraine, narcolepsy, fibromyalgia, and smoking cessation. The flagship product candidate, AXS-05, is an oral NMDA receptor antagonist intended to treat MDD and TRD; it works by blocking NMDA receptors to influence brain signaling involved in mood and depression, and has received FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation. The company earns revenue from the commercialization of its drugs, partnerships, and potential licensing deals as its pipeline progresses through clinical trials and regulatory approvals. Axsome aims to provide effective CNS therapies, advance its drug pipeline, and improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Axsome hits 52-week low on Auvelity Alzheimer's launch worries despite $259.7M Q3 revenue beat

The company holds $314 million in cash, which management expects to fund operations until it turns cash flow positive. Jefferies tips three biotech stocks with blockbuster potential worth $15B+ in peak sales

Jefferies has identified three undervalued biotechnology stocks with strong commercial prospects despite challenging macroeconomic conditions. Delphia Therapeutics' oral psychedelic DT120 has produced three positive Phase III datasets for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Jefferies estimates $1.5 billion or more in peak sales per indication, implying a $9 billion valuation against the current $5 billion market cap. Axsome Therapeutics' Auvelity is approved for major depressive disorder and Alzheimer's agitation. Management's peak sales guidance of $8 billion for Auvelity suggests significant upside. BridgeBio Pharma is positioned to launch four blockbuster oral medications. Attruby could reach $3-4 billion in US peak sales, whilst three additional billion-dollar products will launch in 2027. The firm noted rising interest rates are pressuring small and mid-cap biotech companies, potentially shifting investor focus toward late-stage and commercial-stage names.

Axsome Therapeutics announces results of the Shared Goals survey of caregivers of patients with alzheimer?s disease agitation presented at Psych Congress 2026.

Axsome Therapeutics announces results of the Shared Goals survey of caregivers of patients with alzheimer?s disease agitation presented at Psych Congress 2026. Published on 09/21/2026 at 10:05 am EDT S&P Capital IQ Axsome Therapeutics Inc. announced results of the Shared Goals: Navigating Alzheimer's Agitation survey that highlight the profound impact that symptoms of agitation can have on people with Alzheimer?s disease and their family care partners. The Shared Goals survey of 751 adults who currently provide care to a loved one with Alzheimer?s disease was conducted online by The Harris Poll, with input from CaringKind, and sponsored by Axsome. It is among the largest and most recent surveys of care partners of people living with Alzheimer?s disease agitation. The Shared Goals survey results were presented at Psych Congress 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 17 and 18, 2026. Care partners surveyed reported that agitation negatively affected their loved one?s overall quality of life (97%), ability to care for themselves (96%), community engagement (95%) and maintaining relationships with family and friends (89%). While 85% of care partners reported being highly involved in treatment decisions, recognition often comes too late, with 76% wishing they had recognized symptoms of agitation sooner and 53% regretting not talking to their loved one?s healthcare provider sooner about their agitation symptoms. The survey also revealed that the symptoms of Alzheimer?s disease that are most detrimental to a loved one?s overall quality of life are nonaggressive symptoms of agitation, such as complaining, negativism, frequent unwarranted requests for help (76%); repetitive sentences or questions, inappropriate laughter or crying (75%); repetitive mannerisms (67%); and pacing or aimless wandering (56%). Care partners also expressed a desire for resources to help manage their loved ones? symptoms of agitation: 89% wished they had an easier way to track their loved one?s symptoms of agitation over time, and 81% expressed interest in a way to easily and discreetly share information about such symptoms with their loved ones? doctor. Care partners also described unmet needs in managing agitation, with nearly half (47%) worried if they are making the right medication decisions for their loved ones. Further, 93% of care partners said they wish there was a medication that reduced their loved one's symptoms of agitation without adding negative side effects. Additional survey results and more information on Alzheimer?s disease agitation can be found by visiting ALZGoals.com. The Harris Poll, on behalf of Axsome Therapeutics, Inc., conducted an online survey among 751 adults age 18+ in the U.S. who currently provide informal (i.e., unpaid or unprofessional) care to a loved one with Alzheimer?s disease, between October 7? 28, 2025.
