Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in chemical manufacturing
  • Knowledgeable of ASME Div 8, API-510, API-653, API-570 Codes
  • Strong MS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Maintenance Connection skills
Responsibilities
  • Assess and provides technical and troubleshooting support for needs directly affecting plant operation.
  • Combine knowledge of mechanical principles, mechanical equipment operation and repair, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Foster teamwork and prioritizes the safety of all involved during the process.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors, maintenance and operations technicians and their guidance to understand the problem and recommend solutions.
  • Balance daily support needs with continuous improvement.
  • Work the prioritized list of improvement projects to develop improvement scopes, orders equipment, writes work notifications and MOC's, clearly communicate the needed work scope to maintenance crews, and provides feedback on progress at CIT meetings.
  • Investigate and recommends new or improved technologies to provide reliable solutions.
  • Provide technical design as applicable for pumping systems and pressure vessel modifications.
  • Provide budgetary scopes, project description and works with PICA to understand project justification for the Project Authorization Form (PAF). Routes PAF for approval.
  • Develop Gantt charts and bid packages, obtains quotes or bids to implement projects, issues and/or approves purchase requisitions, and acts as the construction liaison with SI Group, nested, and non-nested contractors to fully implement project scopes.

  • Manage project overall cost and escalate for over- or under-run of project.
  • Update all necessary documentation into database.
  • Provide after hour support for high priority processes one week/month.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree) preferred
  • Experience with software pertaining to fluid flow, pressure vessels, or pipe stress analysis

SI Group has promoted Robert Kaiser to senior vice president, strategic marketing, a role in which he will also join the company's executive leadership team. Kaiser joined SI Group in 2014 and has since held leadership positions of increasing responsibility across strategic marketing and business development. The company said he has played a key role in shaping its portfolio and market strategy, and in driving cross-functional alignment on critical growth initiatives. Before joining SI Group, Kaiser held commercial leadership roles at AkzoNobel and Arizona Chemical, now part of Kraton Corporation. David Bradley, president and chief executive officer of SI Group, said Kaiser has consistently demonstrated exceptional strategic leadership and a deep understanding of the company's markets. SI Group and Shengxiao Group form joint venture to expand Biphenol capacity in China

SI Group and Shengxiao Group have formed a joint venture, Shengnova Advanced Materials, to expand Biphenol production capacity in China. The partnership combines Shengxiao's existing manufacturing facilities in Sichuan with SI Group's proprietary technology and global expertise. Biphenol is a key monomer used in liquid crystal polymers, polyphenylenesulfone and other high-performance materials for electronics, automotive and medical applications. The venture aims to enhance regional supply to meet rising demand across Asia Pacific whilst SI Group continues production at its Newport, Tennessee facility.
