Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential.
  • Current registration or certification with an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
  • At least one year of experience in Internal Medicine is preferred.
  • National registration as a Medical Assistant and experience in Internal Medicine or Primary Care are preferred.
  • Candidates who have completed an accredited Medical Assistant training program but are not currently registered or certified may apply if they are eligible to become registered within 90 days of hire.
  • Candidates selected for an interview must complete a medical skills assessment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist during routine examinations.
  • Record patient histories and log vital signs.
  • Obtain and track authorizations and test results.
  • Enter laboratory and diagnostic test orders.
  • Schedule appointments, procedures, and imaging.
  • Provide Patient Service Representative coverage when needed.
  • Triage calls, room patients, assist during office visits, and provide follow-up to patients and families.
  • Work closely with a healthcare provider in a multispecialty setting.
  • Provide hands-on patient care in a healthcare setting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Department of Transportation physicals.
  • Experience in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
  • Proven electronic health record experience.
