Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Linux systems administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Experience using Red Hat Satellite or an equivalent tool to centrally manage servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with patching, updating, and bug remediation for Linux operating systems and third-party applications.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability to assist, guide, and share information with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work well within a team and with others.
  • Willingness and availability to participate in a regular 24×7 on-call rotation, work a flexible schedule, and respond to out-of-band emergencies.
  • Ability to work directly with customers and technical teams, investigate problems, interact with vendors, and serve as a technical expert.
Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems within an enterprise-server environment.
  • Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, bug fixes, and operating system upgrades.
  • Identify areas for enhancement and deploy automated processes to minimize human intervention.
  • Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues.
  • Define and implement security best practices and hardening for Linux servers and related technologies.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in planning and development of new features.
  • Proactively manage environments and forecast capacity needs.
  • Assist with the deployment of new applications and services.
  • Work with other teams to optimize services.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Scripting expertise and knowledge of automation tools.
  • Experience or basic knowledge of incident management, problem management, and service request fulfillment support.
