  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VNets, DNS, routing, firewall, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Experience managing or working within an SRE framework, including SLOs, error budgets, and a blameless post-mortem culture.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage, together with the EMEA team, the design, build, and continuous improvement of Deloitte Belgium's cloud estate, ensuring it is scalable, secure, cost-optimised, and compliant with Deloitte global standards.
  • Drive Infrastructure-as-Code maturity across the team using tools that ensure consistency, repeatability, and auditability.
  • Own the cloud networking architecture, including virtual networks, VDI, DNS, firewall policy, and hybrid connectivity where applicable.
  • Ensure cloud identity and access management foundations, including Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management, and conditional access, are robust, well-governed, and aligned with the Security & Risk function.
  • Maintain and mature the cloud backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity posture, with tested and documented RPO/RTO commitments.
  • Champion an SRE culture within the team, including the use of SLOs and error budgets, blameless post-mortems, toil reduction, and automation-first problem solving.
  • Own the incident management process for infrastructure-related incidents, ensuring rapid response, effective communication, and structured post-incident review.
  • Drive observability maturity across the cloud estate, including centralised logging, metrics, alerting, and dashboard standards.
  • Manage on-call arrangements and operational rotas so the team can sustain reliable operations.
  • Ensure the cloud infrastructure estate adheres to Deloitte's security baseline, CIS benchmarks, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the Security & Risk function to implement and maintain cloud security controls, including policy-as-code, network segmentation, encryption standards, and vulnerability management.
  • Ensure all infrastructure changes pass through appropriate governance and CAB processes, with change risk accurately assessed.
  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage the Cloud Infrastructure team, creating a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Set clear individual objectives aligned to service and engineering outcomes, with regular one-to-ones, structured feedback, and development planning.
  • Manage team capacity across run, improve, and transform workstreams, escalating resource constraints proactively.
  • Identify skills gaps, particularly in emerging cloud services, security, and SRE practices, and work with the CIO to address them.
  • Foster strong working relationships with peer service owners and team leads across the IT department and beyond.
  • Hold end-to-end accountability as service owner for the cloud infrastructure service domain, including service definition, performance governance, consumer experience, vendor and supplier relationships, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and maintain cloud infrastructure service entries within the IT service catalogue (L1–L4), ensuring services are accurately described, appropriately scoped, and up to date.
  • Define and publish service standards, including availability targets, support tiers, and onboarding requirements for consuming teams.
  • Ensure all cloud infrastructure components are accurately represented in the CMDB, with clear ownership, lifecycle status, and dependency mapping.
  • Set, negotiate, and own SLAs and SLOs for cloud infrastructure services, including availability, performance, and recovery targets.
  • Establish and manage error budgets as the primary mechanism for balancing reliability and velocity across the platform.
  • Report service performance against SLAs/SLOs to the CIO and IT leadership on a regular cadence, with clear root cause analysis where targets are missed.
  • Own the cloud infrastructure service roadmap, translating business demand, technology evolution, and platform debt into a prioritised, funded plan.
  • Act as the intake point for consuming teams requiring new or changed infrastructure services, qualifying demand and managing expectations through transparent backlog visibility.
  • Collaborate with the CIO, Development and Configuration Lead, and Security & Risk Lead to align the platform roadmap with the wider IT TOM and strategic direction.
  • Own the cloud cost envelope for the infrastructure service, with accountability for optimisation, forecasting accuracy, and variance reporting.
  • Embed FinOps practices across the team, including tagging governance, reserved instance management, rightsizing, and showback/chargeback to consuming teams.
  • Contribute to the IT budget process with accurate, evidence-based cloud cost projections.
Desired Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent; additional security certification such as AZ-500 or DevOps certification such as AZ-400 is advantageous.
  • Experience with the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem at enterprise scale, including Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Monitor.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, IT4IT, or service catalogue frameworks.
  • Experience contributing to or leading IT TOM or service-led operating model transformations.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms, particularly CMDB and service catalogue modules.
  • Working knowledge of French and/or Dutch is advantageous.

About the company

Deloitte audits companies and advises businesses and governments on tax, technology, and risk, and it is one of the Big Four, the world's four largest accounting firms. In 1849 its founder became the first independent auditor of a public company, Britain's Great Western Railway. Its auditors check companies' financial reports for errors and fraud before investors rely on them, while its consultants design strategy, install business software, and defend clients against cyberattacks. Clients pay fees for each audit or project, and each country's Deloitte firm is a separate business owned by its local partners. Deloitte was founded in London in 1845 and is based in New York.

AI forces companies to rethink hiring practices as job applications surge and entry-level pipelines shrink

Business Insider convened 15 HR and C-suite leaders in Davos to discuss how AI is reshaping hiring and talent pipelines. The roundtable, presented by Indeed, revealed growing concerns about entry-level positions and skills assessment. Deloitte's Elizabeth Faber emphasised maintaining a "human-led, technology-powered" approach whilst carefully navigating reduced junior hiring. TCW's Melissa Stolfi noted her firm has downsized its analyst class but maintains a pyramid structure to preserve apprenticeship culture and future leadership pipelines. Indeed's chief economist Svenja Gudell warned that whilst tech employers now demand five-plus years' experience, this creates future talent shortages if junior hiring continues declining. Salesforce's Nathalie Scardino said her company receives two million applications annually and has shifted focus from years of experience to learning aptitude. Manpower Group's Becky Frankiewicz noted AI can process candidates faster whilst reducing bias, potentially unlocking opportunities beyond traditional qualifications.

He proposed creating digital economic zones integrating GCCs, GPU-based data centres, startups and academic institutions to accelerate expansion. The CEO called for streamlining GCC setup processes from six months to two weeks, whilst acknowledging infrastructure constraints around energy and water for data centres. Shetty noted Mangaluru offers advantages including talent availability and real estate, adding the company's presence there is a matter of timing.
