We are looking for an experienced leader to manage and grow our two engineering teams in the analytics engineering domain.
The teams build and maintain company-wide used, trusted data layers and analytical frameworks on top of business and user events end-to-end. You will drive the teams’ journeys to accelerate self-service data consumption and insight generation at SoundCloud by shaping the data models as well as the related needs in terms of ensuring data quality, data governance, performance and short delivery cycles.

About the role:
- Own the full scope of foundational analytics engineering at SoundCloud
- Enable your teams for iterative delivery with short cycle time
- Build and run high-performance teams based on agile best practices, trust, inclusion and a strong feedback culture
- Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to align value and feasibility
- Connect closely with a wide range of internal users and stakeholders (like engineers, product and business managers, analysts and data scientists)
- Be part of the foundational data organization’s leadership team: contribute to define and execute on goals, strategy, success metrics, roadmap
- Be a leader: enable collaboration, continuous learning, autonomy, and leadership in your team and its individual members
About you:
- You have already led teams, incl. hiring and people management (2+ years leadership experience)
- You are a role model for a strong feedback culture
- You are familiar with strategies to increase diversity and inclusion in engineering and have applied them before
- You have a solid background in data engineering and data modeling, and you are familiar with engineering best practices (e.g. test concepts, version control, continuous integration, clean code)
- You are familiar with cloud based data environments (GCP preferred)
- You know SQL and are familiar with at least one programming language suitable for data analysis (Python preferred)
- Ideally, you have a solid analytical and data science knowledge (e.g. experience in time series analysis, prescriptive or predictive analytics)
- You are an agile practitioner and seek impact and outcome, not just output
