- The candidate must be able to safely lift, carry, and restrain animals, including dogs and cats of varying sizes and weights.
- The candidate must be able to assist with patient transfers, positioning, and movement throughout the hospital.
- The candidate must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as cleaning, stocking, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining equipment.
- The candidate must be able to work around animal dander, fur, saliva, urine, feces, blood, and other bodily fluids.
- The candidate must be able to work with and around cleaning and disinfecting products, medical supplies, and veterinary medications.
- The candidate must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow hospital safety and infection-control protocols.
- The candidate must maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, clients, and team members.
- Provide hands-on care during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement.
- Complete and assist with in-house laboratory diagnostics.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Support veterinarians in developing and carrying out treatment plans.
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures.
- Provide anesthesia monitoring and perioperative patient care.
- Support patient preparation, recovery, and discharge.
- Use appropriate monitoring equipment and protocols to promote patient safety.
- Educate pet owners regarding medications, treatments, and home care.
- Assist with discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations.
- Build trust with clients through compassionate, knowledgeable communication.
- Help create a positive client experience from admission through discharge.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow and patient care.
- Help uphold hospital protocols and medical standards.
