Job Description
A Team Leader is a key component to the success of the LARSON production line. In this position, you will work to provide communication to your department on workload and internal company information, assist supervisors in enforcing production plans, and work with members of your team in a collaborative environment. - Provide daily communication to department.
- Enforce compliance of all company policies, safety, and housekeeping regulations. Communicate comments/concerns of personnel to supervisor. Recommending corrective action for employees where appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, approving daily hours of associates time, and production records.
- Assign associates to specific jobs daily to ensure proper rotation.
- Analyze to resolve work problems or assisting personnel in solving work problems.
- Promote workplace safety by assuring universal precautions and safe work practices are in use; assures fire, safety, and disaster plans are established and communicated to all department associates.
- Participate in risk management assessments; maintain security and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Perform accident investigations as required.
- Coordinate training of new employees and delegate workload throughout the area.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
- Confirm departments operate at acceptable efficiency levels and all equipment and machines are kept in working order.
- Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Control the inventory of supplies and raw materials, work in process, and scrap within the area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that we are achieving our daily/weekly/monthly goals.
- Coordinate incoming and outing trucks with external and internal carriers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Associate degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Leadership and people management skills.
- Continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Organization skills necessary.
- Math, analytical and computer skills.
- Experience with inventory management and warehouse procedures.
